Hi all, i was wondering if anybody could answer some questions for me, as im working my way up thru the tailor skills im forever short of this, and that, so i was wondering if anybody would be so kind as to make me a list of

A. resources i will need for the majority of items (so i can stock upon resources)

B. a list of likeley components that i will use (allreay got some fibreplast pannels, metal fastners) etc.

also could you give an example of the components i will need, eg .i dont know what i biological component is so an explanation of these things would help a lot. i thank you in advance for your time.

yours, epou hage.

Fiberplast and Polymer in huge quantities. Hides (Wooly, Bristley) and metal (I use aluminum because it cheap to buy) in decent amounts.

Synthetic Cloth (SC), Reinforced Fiber Panels (RFP), SC, Metal Fasteners, SC, Trim and oh did I mention SC? Seriously I almost always have a run of SC going, it is by far the most popular thing you will use. For Shoe Soles and Jewelry Fasteners and Cargo Pockets you can usually get away with having one or two crates lying around somewhere.

That is for working. Ifyou just want to grind it - Polymer, Fiberplast, and Metal are all you HAVE to have... you can get to Master without making a single thing that uses subcomponents.

The FAQ in the stickies has a wealth of information...

check out the "for tailors" section.

The biggest bit of advice I can give you is read the sticky FAQ.

1, Fiberplast, polymer, hide, metal. Those are the 4 main resources but there is a list as part of the FAQ.

2, Synthetic Cloth is the most used component. Reinforced Fiber Panels are needed if you do a lot of fieldwear items, Trim if you are doing formal wear and jewellery settings if you are making jewellery (also used a lot in formal wear too). Metal Fasteners are used for lots of different things but luckily come in crates of 50. Cargo Pockets are needed for some of the backpacks and bandoliers and Shoe Soles are needed for a lot of the footwear.

Basically decide what you want to make and check the schematics for which components you will need.

And a biological component is a BE tissue. Check out the BE guides in the FAQ if you wish to work with BE clothing.

*supresses a /sigh*

I guess most of us could explain it all to you, but why don't you check out the FAQ in the stickies? Everything you want to know is there, thanks to our very own godess of HAWT and those that pre- and succeeded her.

Saves you and us a lot of time, and it's the most efficient way of knowledge transfer. Otherwise, we would be typing it all up for every newbie out there, again and again. Which is why we have the excellent FAQ. And trust me, it is all in there, that which you want to know.

I really advise you to check it out, really do
And don't forget to check out some of the other Tailor-related site swhich are linked in the FAQ. One I can recommend off the top of my hat is www.swgtailor.com.

If you have questions after that, then come back to ask them

To answeryour questions quickly (and incompletely), stock up on Fiberplast, Inert Petrochemicals and several types of hide, especially Leather and some Wooly. As quality doesn't matter, go for the cheapest ones (if you're buying them).

As for components, it really depends on what you're going to make. If you're doing mostly clothing, it will probably be Metal Fasteners, Fiberplast Panels and Synthetic Cloth. Other components are mainly for Jewelry, Shoes and other specific products.

Once again, check the FAQ, examine your schematics. There's really only one person that can determine what you'll need and that is you

EDIT: And I was thinking "First!" I guess not...
