Are these tailor made robes or armor made robes.
"Keep in mind, all this is subject to change. Also, if your profession is NOT listed here (most notably Teras kasi), then you are NOT currently certified for armor. In the case of Teras Kasi, word is they will be getting something like Jedi Robes in the CURB, hence their lack of certification."

very interesting.... hadn't heard the rumor of TK robes - everything i'd heard was just that TK's have the best quickness and defenses .... that would be neat if we had something new to craft but i don't remember seeing anything added in the skill tree on TC5 - will have to look again.

Remember that no one has actually played a TKA yet except for possibly the devs. If they *do* get their own robes then I will be complaining loudly but I can't really justify complaining about rumors. They would never listen to me again!

Kinda hard to tell, I havent seen any new robes in any of the files, but it doesnt mean they arent there. the devs may have not put them in yet.

Because in the beta for the CU, the elite trainers are disabled, we can't tell at this point if any new schematics are in tailor. My guess is probably not, but we'll of course do an inventory of all that we have when/if the frogs emerge.
CU beta is on TC, it's public, come test the new stuff. I know, I know it has nothing to do with tailoring, but I know the members of this community are conscientious and would fill out some great bug reports - you don't need to know much about combat to find the bugs, because they can show up in the interface, and just about every other non-combat system. So help us play whack-a-bug, even if it's just for an hour.

I think the question becomes: do we want to do TK Robes?
I guess I wouldn't mind having items we can experiment on. As I'm not a 12 point Tailor it'll be a pain to compete, not to mention that I never signed on to do armor. (I'd be miffed if I was an AS, but they're going to have tons on their plates as it is.)
I guess it doesn't matter in the end, as the Devs will give them to whoever they want to or have fixed ones like what the Jedi get. We can still throw some opinions up anyway.

TKA arent getting robes
they can't wear armor period, how some guy read that and thought up robes is beyond me. a TKA will use his avoidance and toughness to not take damage, not a new robe

An armorsmith friend told me that tailors will have more of a role in helping them make armor. Does this mean we're just going to be componant suppliers? I enjoy making BE clothes, it would stink if that part of my job was taken away in favor of 'helping' armorsmiths instead.

I have to repeat - we do not have the elite trainers yet on TC5, so it's impossible to know these things. The armorsmiths as of now do *not* know what components/materials the new armors will take.

Chiana, what they mentioned in the CURB Documentation indicates the Armorsmiths will (continue to) use Tailor components in the final combines. Which ones and how many per item we don't know know yet. Even if they add more Tailor component requirements than there are now, I doubt we'll be involved much more since many Armorsmiths are also Tailors enough to make component schematics.
SkinnyManDo, the dev responses imply that what you said was true and TKAs have built-in damage resistances, not robe items that act as armor. That gets rid of my objection of not wanting to take on Armorsmith duties. However, they didn't confirm or deny any new clothing items.
So let's switch gears: If they are planning on making new TKA robes, are they going to be rewards or crafted items? Only time will tell...
