My baby stood up by herself for the first time today.
was reading the horror on the Dancer forums (don't get me started) and suddenly my 4 year old says "MOMMY! DADDY! [baby's name] is STANDING UP!"
and I looked in the pac-n-play and there she is clinging to the side for dear life, grinning ear to ear.
She just had her 1st bday a week ago. She's one of those babies that wants to do everything for herself, so she wouldn't ever let us try to "show" her how to stand.
of course... now i gotta start baby proofing the house! LOL
anyways... thought I'd share a smile with you all since this is currently the nicest forum I know!

Woot!
My own demon spawn (I am so proud of him in that fact) is four now,
and still remeber when he decided he was gonna stand.
Gripped thefront of the stationary bouncer he was in, pulled himself out with a flip,
grabbed the leg of it pulled up to stand and played with the toys from the outside of it instead of inside sitting.
After that 1 time he was off, couch climbing, chair pushing, stair sliding...and he hasn't stopped.
*yeah* for babies

Congrats! Hopefully I'll be there someday. (So far it's been nothing but bachelorhood for this Tailor.

Lol, I'm too young to be worrying about babies, but my mom still tells me from time to time about the first time I walked across the room all by myself. Gahhh!!! My mom is such a mom...

All hail to [baby's name] ...
We are not as lucky as you, as we don't have kids (yet), but can imagine how you felt about that moment.
/thumbs up for [baby's name]
Yours,
Ipita

Baby firsts are always great.
My baby is almost 4, and last week she typed "hi" all by herself while I was goofing off in tc.
Herlatest things are pointing out the letters she sees, and asking us "What comes after cheese?" which means, what letter does it start with.

Congrats!
My baby cousin (well child of my cousin) who is 8 months and can stand and crawl and whatnot came over to visit and immediately found a dead fly and ate it. I felt like a horrible housekeeper.

I guess I'm too old for this thread - my kids already argue with me about the way my chars look... lol.
Anyway, it's a nice moment seeing them walk for the first time. As it is when they say their first word - and a few years later you wish they'd stop talking for a while...

my 4 year old says "what starts with ear" instead of "what does ear start with" so yeah I totally understand that one!
He also LOVES to help me tailor! Usually if there is a newbie dancer in theed in those hideous diaper pants and make them a new wardrobe for free. I always let my 4yr old pick the colors on the free newbie clothes. Usually they end up with a grand ball gown that is bright red and blue. He loves bright colors. And he never picks black! ![]()
