I'm really getting tired of the monotonous customer requests. Like today (slightly paraphrased):

Can you make a smock?
Sure, what color?
Black.
Right... And, uh, what color belt on it?
Black.
Black on black, uh, ok. And do you need boots, gloves, a sash?
A sash - I'm Trandoshan so can't wear boots/gloves.
OK, sure, I can. And what color? (say it all with me...)
Black.

What exactly is the point of a sash you can't see?

So, what I propose is that all tailor start charging DOUBLE for black items. Triple for two-color black/black items. After all, the pure black clothes in UO used to cost double/triple (though that's because they had to use an exploit at first, then a rare item).

If all tailors starting increasing their prices only on black items, maybe we'd actually see more colors (outside the cities)...

Lol, yah. Whenever i make stuff for my vendor i always just make black because its unisex and everyone ALWAYS wants ALL black.

I'm not normally much of a whiner but I have to say I agree with this. It's getting old fast. I'm very close to a point where I'm just going to refuse to do all black outfits. You want a black Gunman's Duster? OK, no problem, but you have to buy a bright blue shirt to go with it. Of course, there isn't much choice as the field wear palette is bland, bland, bland. This is why I'm not going up the Tailoring tree before I even start up on casual or formal wear. What's the point of pretty dresses and the like if they just look like a feminine version of a duster. I really wish they would open up all of the tailoring tree colors to the field wear line.

I'm to a point where I'm not quite sure where I'm going with this so I'm just gonna stop. Hopefully this made at least a little sense.

Which is why my black thin striped pants with the bright red stripe sell out every time...

It's because black looks good. I myself wear either all black or all white. It looks good. Sure you could go all bright yello and light blue...but really...it doesn't look as good.

Speaking of which...i'm going to go make an all bright yellow outfit and see how that looks.

True - I did try wearing a black smock when several people suggested calling it a trenchcoat (since people keep looking for those), and it does look good. But I was wearing it with a blue belt, blue swoop helm, blue shoes, and blue gloves, so there was at least some color. I've displayed it like that it my shop to give people ideas.

And black and white are both easy to match to. Actually, what I've noticed is the people withfightingtitles all want black, but not many other people. Other than one or two pieces - belts, boots, that kind of thing.

Often, though,when I do get a request for a specific color, it's to match to a looted item, and there's no WAY I can make that bright of an orange, green, etc.

Hmm, you know, that book also reminded me of the outfit I want:

The funny thing is, you can charge more for black and people will pay for it. I don't, but I have tested it on my vendor, especially during one really heavy business day when I was running out of black clothes on my vendor and didn't have the resources to make more. I raised prices on the quick sellers just so that i would have stock on hand when people came in to visit my shop...nothing says "this shop sucks, I'll never come back here" like an empty vendor.

Items that are double black both sellwell and for more, no doubt.

I had a thought, what about a Match Color command, that way if the tailor has access tothe color of a certain item, you click this and it will automatically match the color to the next item you craft.

Don't think of it like that. We, and when I say "We" I mean "Them", are not all the same. In life I wear black Always and I am very much unlike everyone else.

Tailors I have seen so far are a little disappointing, as we customers can tell we obviously are disappointments to you from all the complaints we read here.
I would say a tailor provides his or her Services and should do so with a little more class than what I've seen. Complaining that, I have too many orders, but FINE I guess I'll do your's", or about Having to make clothes in one color are annoying galaxy tailor traits that would annoy me less if replaced with suggestions of different colors or items and a little more character entirely.
