Thread: Color 1 worth it?
Tailoring II gives a nice green, Tailoring III gives a nice blue/magenta, Tailoring IV gives another nice green and periwinkle. One of them gives purple (might be I, not sure)
Somebody said you get something thats more like red than novice but then he said he was partially color blind to so take it for what its worth, lol *shrug*
Just a warning about the colors:
I'm glad I made up names for my colors...when I did tailoring I (or maybe II ?) I got my upgraded RGB. I called em 'ruby' 'emerald' and 'cobalt'...becuase they really aren't ture red, green, and blue. I'm really glad I did, cos now at Master Tailor I have 2 issues:
1) I can no longer make those shades of RGB, as they have been replaced with bright tacky hues of RGB
2) Now I have 'scarlet', 'deep green', and 'bright blue'.....and when someone tries to buy and match up something like a bustier and hotpants, they don't have to guess which go with which in the little viewing window. It's like Garanimals (for those of you who remember lol)...scarlet goes with scarlet, etc....
And I assume they will eventually give us true RGB and I will save red green blue names for when they do.
But anyway....if you like the red and blue of tailoring 3, make alot in it cos you will never see it again.
I have a three-character name for each color I use frequently, so I can consistently display the color names. For example, a Rugged Jacket in Black with Red trim would be "Rugged Jacket - BlkRed". The evolving problem, I'm belatedly figuring out, is that that purlpish-pinkish-maroonish thing I've been calling "Red" is superseded by the much better looking Tailoring I red. Which is kinda messing up my little naming scheme.
For now, I'm figuring on adding an exclamation point to shades that are brighter than the previous ones - so a pair of pants in Red with white stripe would be "Striped Slacks - Red!Wht", and maybe the ultimate red would be "Striped Slacks - RED!Wht" or something....

Heh, yeah, that was me.
I believe you also get a new yellow - at least, it displays after the red. But it's pretty much duplicated by an existing yellow.
Oh, also - that sad +10 assembly/experimentation doesn't help much with making it a good step. But I'm almost up to II...
I think it's worth it after you've gotten a couple of other boxes. Personally, I like the new red much better than the dark, kind of maroon colour I had before, and the new purple is a big hit with many customers, as well as the brightened orangesand others.
ButI have to say, you should probably get at least Casual 3 or Field 3, so that you can get the big moneymaking cloaks or dusters. After that, by all means, more colours.
I don't think it makes sense to add more colours to the stuff you can as a Novice Tailor. It's just more colours of crap (to put it bluntly).
I was disappointed in tech I for tailor...Tech II was well worth it though. The added experimentations and skills really helped me produce better stuff with the sub-par fiberplast I have been able to harvest on Naboo and Tat recently. (tarq server) Also seemed to reduce the number of failures for me. Which at higher skill items is quite costly.
Best of Tailor I is that it gets you closer to Tailor 2. Tailor 2 adds an Awesome Bright Blue which is very popular, as well as 1-2 sockets at times which is getting a lot of interest from melee customers. Also if you supply crates to armoursmiths, they will appreciate the better quality panels, as well, I have a couple smiths that used to craft panel crates themselves, and have switch to buying from me because of the higher experimentation I get which does matter to them.
Doupe
For those interestedI went in this order: Field 1, Field 2, Tech 1, Formal 1, Field 3, Formal 2, Tech 2, Formal 3.
If I had to do it over again I would have taken Tech II earlier for the blues and experimentation points.
Plan to finish Field, Formal, and Tech prior to hitting casual line.
