Thread: Complexity, Experimenting and Experience

What, if any, effect does complexity have on experience? I realize that the more complex and item, the more resources it uses, but does complexity itself have an impact on exp? When I experiment and get the complexity rating up 5 or so points from its base rate, does it do me any good? Or am I wasting my time?

Thanks for any help you can give!

The only thing that effects xp is the number of resources and how high up the tailor tree the item is. Experimenting currently does nothing since clothing doesn't decay anyways. Making experimentation actually count for something is high on the list of things we want changed. This is a crafting-wide issue, but one I hope is being addressed somewhere.

Apparently, we're *supposed* to get higher XP from experimentation, but it's not actually happening.

And XP seems to be based only on number of resources used, and has nothing to do with complexity except insofar as there's some vague correlation between complexity and number of resources used.

Right now, experimentation seems to be just a waste of time, but based on a comment from Holocron, this is not intentional, and there's supposed to be some XP benefit from experimentation.

This would be nice, especially if the bonus exceeded the new +5% grinding bonus. It'd be nice to see *something* somewhere that would encourage the working tailor instead of the current overwhelming incentives to grinders.
