Thread: So why is it that we can't have any color in all items?(Can't create matching items)

So last night I created a nice pair of large pocket pants with a blue/grey strip down the side and created a matching ribbed shirt( or as close to matching as i could get with out having the colors named).

And then I created a Rugged jacket and all I could get was a grey stripe going down the side.

So now I have what would be a nice set of clothing but the jacket doesn't match. I know you get more colors as you go up one of the trees but if a color is available on one item it should be available on all items.

In these cases, I think the palettes match, right? (same number of colors, same apparent values for both large pocket pants and rugged jacket, I believe?)

The trick seems to be some sort of "texture" layers on clothes - e.g., Rugged Jacket has a sort of leatherette "sheen" to it that a lot of clothes don't have. So the same color filtered through a different "texture" doesn't seem to match exactly.

For what it's worth, I discovered that the Ribbed Pants seem to be the best trouser "color match" for the Rugged Jacket, as they have a similar texture. Reinforced Jackets seem to match up better with most other types of pants, as they have a more typical texture.

Striped Slacks.. Black with your choice of stripe color. Matches with anything, looks very nice, both casual and formal. And they're cheap to make.

Ahh I see what your saying sue but that just confuses me even more since the ribbed pants and ribbed shirts should have the same texture. But yet according towhat you just said thejacket matches the pants but not the shirt of the same type.

DAM YOU SWG 8-)

ahh well I'll just have to try the other type of jacket and see if that matches better unless someone can come up with a better way

IIRC, Ribbed Shirts and Ribbed Pants match reasonably well, but I could be mistaken there.

You do RC. Ribbed pants and shirts match pretty well, with the pants being kind of a midpoint between the matte of the shirt and the shine of the Rugged Jacket. The pants seem to be a semi-leather/poly kind of texture, just not as bright and disgustingly shiny as the jacket.
