This change to the XP given out by factories is seriously hampering my ability to level in my chosen profession.

Now, I am not one of those people who were making endless runs of ribbed shirts or other tailor specific clothing to get major crafting experiance, while not present.

With only a few exceptions, I have handcrafted all the clothes I have created. I have sold most of what I have crafted. The exceptions are.. guild clothes/uniforms. Those were made in the factory. I never expected exp from them because I make them when Iwas offline.

However, the factory crafts severalcomponents that I require in my business.

  • Synthcloth

  • Metal Fasteners

  • Re-inforced Fiber

A good majority of the sellable clothing that I craft, requires factory identical components. Those components are usually being crafted by my factory, while I work in my guilds PA hall or my guilds shop ( both less than 200m from my factory ).

To make a single synthcloth, requires 16 fiberplast and 4 inert petrochemical ( 40tailoring xp )

To make a single metel fastener requires 15 metal ( 30 tailoring xp )

The niche that I seem to be filling, calls for the following recipie ( complete outfit).

  • 6 factory identical metal fasteners ( 180 tailoringxp ~pre factory nerf~)

  • 10factory identical synthcloth ( 400 tailoring xp ~pre-factory nerf~)

  • 4 regular synthcloth ( 160 tailoring xp )

  • 2 regular metal fasteners ( 60 tailoring xp )

  • 270 fiberplast ( 540 tailoring xp )

  • 140 inert petrochemical ( 280 tailoring xp )

  • 120 hide ( 240 tailoring xp )

While the XP for crafting the actual clothing has not changed, the backend XP from crafting the components has decreased by a significant amount.

The total tailoring xp for the aforementioned outfit ~ no I am not going to give away my niche market ~ used to net me 1860 tailoring XP.

With the change in factory XP, the exact same outfit nets me 1218 tailoring xp.

That is roughly a 34.5% decrease in tailoringexperiance!

Now, I would not mind the factory change so much, since I was not one who was purposefullymass producinghigh return value items, except for the fact that I have absolutly no way to continue making the same experiance for doing the exact same thing.I cannot hand craft factory components. I am being punished ( xp wise ) for using them, but I am required to use them.

Please ... Please... put this post before the people who can take an honest look at the situation.

Thank you.

34.5% isn't as bad as 90%, the devs might see this and go, "See they weren't hurt as bad as they thought!"

I dunno, i've pretty much given up getting XP from factories. I'll use them to make things that REQUIRE me to use it, and I'll often set off a run and let it run over night, but in the past where I'd use it to make just regular comsumables I hand make those now since I get a lot more XP, and it's faster.

OR if you make the whole thing start to finish you would get a whopping 186 EXP

now my question if you made the whole thing start to finish in a factory what would the amount of USE EXP be?

a> 1.5 times 186 exp

b> 1.5 times 1218 exp

c> 0 EXP because use EXP for factory items is probably borked

I'd like some fixes on the factory components, but I'm still doing a box every day or two. After EQ and DAOC its hard for me to complain.

How are you doing a box or two every day? I wish I could. I usually play about 4 hours a night. I end up doing 2 or 3 full outfits for people that come in my shop or for my friends. I also put some stuff on my vendors and I do 10 or 20 things or more for my bulk orders to merchants.

Yet I make at Most 5k xp a day. Sometimes 8 or 10k on a saturday.

Those high boxes are looking more and more out of reach everyday

He's "grinding" instead of "tailoring".

hrm don't metal fastners count as general crafting exp and not tailoring exp, since they are an artisian level item and not a tailoring item?

BTW in 1-2 hours with supplies I can make 32k exp farily easily with only a bit of grinding. Its usually restocking or making orders for people. Heck I got CW3 and spent the next 3 hours getting my next box because bustiers and cloaks where selling like crazy.
