stupid web browsers

*sigh*

In all the pricing schemes and calculators people have put up I have seen charges for resources, rare resources, specific resources, level required, but I haven't seen any charge for factory time for factory identical items.

Are people jsut wrapping this up into the cost of their components and thus charging it for all items or are they just ignoring this cost on the higher level items?

Good question, I get funny looks when I ask why not. It's nearly 2400cr a day isn't it? And a critical failure of a high end product can cost a LOT of time and money that you're not getting back.

I believe that most people simply haven't made it to the level where they need factories a lot, or aren't getting orders for the big ticket items. That's why it's seemingly being ignored. All the price listsseem to becoming from bazaar resource costs and SWGCraft.com's beta ingrediant lists, not actual experience with cranking out the high end products. <shrug>

With giving it a chunk of my power generator for the power I came out to a 2700 a day cost, with 1 item taking approx. 3 mintues to make equaling 1.875 credits per item to make (if your running it constantly). I haven't ran to many high level schematics through this pricing scheme to see how it affects it, but basically it would be adding like 7-10 credits to each factory identical item.

It doesn't sound like much, so maybe I am low balling what I should be adding.

Problem is you're being charged for the factory even if you're not using it constantly. You don't use up power which is nice, but the mere existance of the factory, the mere ability to create the items we can make costs you a tremendous amount of money daily. I'm usually cranking out about 2-3 runs of materials a day so far, so it's getting some use, but not 24/7. I tried the 24/7 thing and my boss kept asking me why I wasn't at work!

hmm the going rate from a crate of cloth is about 2500 on Flurry, so I suppose I should be charging 100 cr for every FI SC, FI RP, and maybe 25 for every metal fastner.

Or I can charge 40 for every FI cloth and like 10-15 for each metal fastner (taking out the resource charge).

Hmm, I am thinking that price structure might fit a bit better.

My spreadsheet calculates the item price from the amount of resources needed and their market prices. The value is init_price = (res1_type * res1_price) + ... + (resn_type * resn_price).

Then it adds percentile amounts to the price depending on the amount of components and factory items. Per component 3% and per factory item 6%. That's intermed_price = init_price * (1 + num_sub * 0,03 + num_fac * 0,06)

Then it adds 5% of the maintenance costs,2% of theprice I paid for my factoryand then apply 8% per level over all that, that being maint_cost which is an output by another sheet in the workbook. That's intermed2_price = (intermed_price + maint_cost * 0,05 + fac_price * 0,02) * (1 + level * 0,08)

Then I add a fix up to get a plain gain for myself (or match market values which are higher than the output on high level items). That's final_price = intermed2_price + fix_up_value.

Nice math, huh? There's some more stuff in the Excel workbook, but that's basically what it does. So you see, factory time is in, both in terms of payback for getting it, and maintenance money (though that contains also maintenance money for my harvesters and house in it, not just the factory).

This is why I charge 10-15k for master level items

I have a huge business I have to restock constantly and I have 4 factories going all the time to keep up, the cost adds up. And yeah when you crit fail a couple times doing master level stuff thats a whole lot of materials your losing
