OK, I realize this topic has been beaten to death, but I wish to beat it some more....

I sell a percentage of my the resources I harvest on the bazaar for 3 credits per unit. This works out to 1500 credits for 500 units or 3000 credits for 1000. I do not sell hides on the bazaar as they are more difficult to gather, but I have seen them priced 10 or more credits per unit. So, when figuring out the base resource price of a tailored item I use 3 credits per chemical, or mineral (unless it is extremely rare), and 10 credits per hide more or less. Using these numbers an item that requires 80 units of chemical and mineral, but no hides would cost approximately 240 credits in resources, and an item that requires 35 units of hide and 5 units of chemical would cost approximately 365 credits in resources.

When pricing items I consider the resource cost, the level required to make it (and therefore the amount of credits and time I have had to spend to be able to make the item), and the perceived demand for the item. If I think it's an item that will be more likely to sell (e.g. black uniform boots)I price it slightly higher than if it's an item that I do not think will sell (e.g. sneakers of any color).

SO, I am wondering what pricing mathematics are used in pricing an item whose resources I price at 240 credits at 100 credits?

Because many people use different pricing schemes.

Personally, this is the pricing scheme I have been working on

3 cr per chemical/mineral/hide/bone

7 cr perspecific resource(on top of the 3 credits already charged)

3 credits per special type (on top of the 3 already charged)

7 cr per factory identical item

skill level modifier (1-3, master will be either a 4 or 5)

popularity of item modifer

I haven't ran many of the schmeatics through yet, but what I have it looks like my pricing is fairly close to what I am already charging, which is good news for me. These numbers are based on my costs to run my harvesters, factory, power generators, hourse, and vendor. Since I basically get bone/hide for free I can charge so low for it.
