Thread: Why must we be limited to palettes?
I've asked this before and still have not heard a good reason -- at master tailor, why must we have limited color palettes? Doesn't this game use 24-bit color? Even if we're in 16-bit color mode, we should be able to use RGB and have an acceptable conversion.
Wouldn't it be possible for tailors to have RGB color control so we can mix colors as we see fit? This would be a really nice reward for getting master tailor. Even EQ (hardly known for its graphics in my opinion) allows RGB color control for dyes -- 255 levels each of red, green and blue so you can mix the color you like.
*REALLY* wanting to make my own colors...

I suspect that item color is stored as a single-byte palette value, rather than an RGB value.
But, if they did add something like this, I'd much rather have HSV controls than RGB, so we can easily change the brightness and saturation without changing the hue, and vice-versa.
Let me get this straight, once I achieve actual tailoring skill (have Domestic 4 as of last night), I'm still only going to be able to make the same stupid shades grays/browns? Iwon't be able to make something like a red jacket or dress?
Tell me I can make clothes that are at least interestingly colored. I've advanced too far in the Domestic line to stop and I'd still like to specialize in Military wear, but dammit I want some color sometimes.
I know this is asking too much
but what I would love would be an option to go with the HSV color selection, where we could select another clothing item and match the hue of an existing item. Sure, the clothing textures cause the brightness to be different, but with HSV sliders that could be tweaked manually without affecting the hue.
Yeah, it's a lot to ask, but it would be REALLY nice.
You know how many red dusters I would have to make then?

But yes it would be lovely to be able to make, say, a bright cloak or something.
