Thread: Just became Novice tailor and have a question
I've read a lot about things that are selling. I hate doing all the black stuff too, believe me, but for now I have to make income while my rep get's around. That brings us to the Smok (Black w/ pewter sash). The NEO Matrix Smok. What have you guys been selling them at. I don't want to undercut you, and I don't want to charge too much, so I'm hopping you can give me a general idea about what you charge. Also, any tips on what items from Novice Tailor are good sellers, I'd apprieciate your input. Thank you,

That totally depends on your server. At least on my planet on my server, people just aren't interested in buying stuff... call it a stagnant economy, or whatever you want. Best of luck.
My bread-and-butter items from Novice Tailor have always been:
Jewelry: I think the Metal Necklace kinda sucks, but all the other types move pretty well. And for some reason, the number of serious jewelry sellers always seems pretty small.
Sleeveless Dress: It's a really nice-looking item, IMO. Not everybody wants one, but the ones who do will pay a decent amount.
The main thing for me, though, has been Rugged Jackets and the various pants, in color-coordinated combinations. Generally, combinations of Black, White, "Novice Tailor Red", and Green. Yellow, Blue, and Brown less so, but those can look good too.
Maybe they just don't want to buy from Homestar Runner. After all, how can he tailor without arms?
I sell smocks for at least 1k. It depends on the city/planet you're in. For instance, I've found that prices are higher in the Coronet than in Theed. Find a tailor in the area you're in and ask them. When in doubt, and no one's around to ask, see what you can get away with selling for.

I sell mine for 1.5k and I get sold out EVERY day. Also Military packs are a great seller too, they don't seem to sell as quick as smocks but they sell. Also, pants seem to sell really well too!
I figured that was probably cheap, but I didn't realize they sold for 1500. I'll probably go up to at least 850. I'll think about 1000.
Thank you all for your feedback. I was thinking about 1K, so i'll probably test the bazaar waters. Thanks for the tips on the other items as well.
I noticed on the smock that there is a place to but a biological component (or something like that). What the heck does that do? Is it like a yuzzhan Vong smock or something?

Then I watch how fast it sells. I usually put 3 out there with various colors and combos. If ALL sell quick, then I up the price 50 creds for the next set of 3 itesm with the same colors and combos. Rinse and repeat until your stuff takes a few days to sell. If you're comfortable with the day or two delay, that's your price. If you want immediate turnover, it's the one before.
If one combo sells at higher price, note it and continue the spread. You *might* be able to squeeze another 100 credits for black items. If so, do it.
The Bio Components are created by BEs and you can find them in drops.. I believe that they are bugged though..
Steady sellers:
Cloaks
Uniform boots
Large Pocket and Work pants
Light Bustiers
My four biggest sellers by far lol...and that's over the master tailor items. I figure alot of basics get ignored by MT's so I make sure I have alot of boring boy clothes along with the exotic girly stuff
