Thread: Worried about armor coloring

I was reading the updates on the patch that's supposed to arrice today when my eye caught something that caused me great concern. Appaerently armorsmith will be able to color their armor.

I fear what this will mean for tailors. As it is the fact that armor cannot really be custimized in apperance is one of the things that draws people to tailors and their cutomized wears. Will these changes pull customers from us.

What worries me even more is the rumor I heard that armorsmiths will have red at their disposal. I don't think I even need to elaborate on what that could mean for us.

Is there anyone who's played on test center that could help remove these worries? I'm holding my breath to see what it'll mean for buisness.

Take care all,

If they get the basic colors and we don't, I will have apoplexy.

I would not be opposed to armorsmiths having color. I would be opposed to them having any more colors than us (unless they received them at the same experimention level we receive them).

Actually, I don't know how this will hurt tailors. Perhaps with the warrior class, there might be some hit to the profession, but no entertainor or crafter class, and certainly any formal event players would notbe wearing armor regardless of color. So, either way, I wouldn't mind. In fact, I'd like to see some customization from architects. I'd like to see a small pallate of colors to change home look, and a large pallate of colors to change furniture looks. I think, it's only fair to armorsmiths to have the same chance to make their armor unique. It would help some of the smaller armorsmiths that are trying to make it in a very crowded industry and money no object.

Truthfully, I've almost stopped wearing armor completely for any occasion. I know there is a big argument as to whether armor is even that beneficial. I know plenty of warriors that don't even wear armor because of the hinderance. So, I really don't see it hurting us too much. However, I'm always open for debate.

From what I'd heard, it's not so much "coloring" as "shading" - they can change some of the shading of various parts, making it darker or lighter, but not recolor, with the possible exception of padded (and I'll be mad too if they can do red before we can).

The way test center is setup, meaning I can't copy my master tailor over to actually test things, I'd have to start all over again, means that I won't be able to first hand test anything at all.

Haven't read any real details about how this works anyway. Again, the fact that you have to grind up AGAIN on that server to actually test anything I think it limiting it's usefullness for anything but combat profession testing.
