Thread: BE/tailor.........is it or was it not?

so even on my servers there is alot of confusion goin on bout the BE/tailor patch, was it fix? or was it not? people ask is the modz fix or no?


ar we able to do crate runs or do we have to do it by hand?

First all you have to do is look on the first page and its littered with this question, but I'll answer it again anyway.



We can now make BE clothes. Do the modS work? no clue. nobody does. As far as I can tell, Terrrain Negotiation, and Healing Efficiency definatly work (at 4000 CM I heal for about 120 point more with +25 healing eff, I tested it yesterday) other than those 2 I can't vouch for anything.


Factory runs are doable within reason, all of the factory runs I've done that I stand next to have come out fine ... note that all of these were black as well

Aye those 2 seem to work for me as well



I just tested the Surveying with some +17 Surveying clothing.


I have 4441 Artisan and 0100 FS Senses (+5 to surveying)


This puts me at +40 in my skills tree and allows me 2 options on a surveying tool:


64x3pts


128x4pts


I put on a shirt with +17, no changes


I added to that shirt a pair of pants with +17, no changes


I added to those a Spec ops duster with +17, no changes


I finally added to all 3 of those a Multipocket Bandolier with +17, no changes


My skills tree read as +40/+108, yet I still had those 2 choices on an old Surveying tool, anda newly crafted one.


As far as I'm concerned the Clothing that is BE enhanced with +xx to surveying does not work as intended at this time.

Does this mod not affect the amount of resources sampled? Giving a higher yeild of resources and more xp? Not sure it affects the Tools range option.. Will have to test this

the range at which you survey with your tools is based on which box you are at in your survey skill tree. im 99% certain that the only thing surveying tissues do is increase the amount of units you sample... and along with that the xp you gain.


also, in case you didnt know... +25 is the cap for BE modifiers. just making sure you knew that adding all those clothes meant nothing.

I know +25 is the cap, has been the cap for a very long time. I was merely under the assumption that the skills you gained from artisan were Named Surveying, so the skills provided by wearing BE clothing, being also named Surveying, would therefore add to distance one is able to survey. I will attempt again with actual sampling involved.

BE survey was indeed meant for increasing range, and last check it did not work.

That's what I thought it was intended for. I remember jedi being all happy cause with +25 you could survey with no artisan, IIRC. Anyway, Did a very small/short test and here are results


Tried 3 diff times, 10 times each. first was without BE modded clothing, 2nd with pants with +17 to Surveying, 3rd time was with pants and shirt with +34 Total to surveying attaining the +25 BE clothing technical cap and then some... here are results


95% spot
First 10 try's on a 95% spawn
+40 to Surveying
7 unit sample, 31 XP
8 unit sample, 35 XP
7 unit sample, 32 XP
8 unit sample, 38 XP
Failed to locate a sample
Failed to locate a sample
It appears you have found a undected concentration - Choice - Attempt to recover resources (300 action) - result - 48 unit sample, 54 XP

My idea - Clothing with +xx to surveying is not working as intended, it is not adding to range of tools, nor is it adding to an increased amount of yield per sample or xp per sample. Yield/Xp still seem to be random as they seem to have been for a very long time.


I only did this 10 times each cause I get too bored trying to do it say 100 times each for a more accurate tally. This seems to give an idea though that the BE enhanced surveying clothing is not working.
