Ideas have been posted on the Art Team:What Women Want thread asking for a dressing room or holo-imager for customers to be able to preview clothing. What do you think of the idea, and which implementation would you prefer should such a thing ever exist...

  1. Holo-imager: Tailors could input their current skills and the holo-imager interfacewould show available schematics and color palettes. Customers could then select schematics and colors &place an order

  2. Dressing room: The dressing room would be linked to a vendor. Customers would be able to select items you have for sale to try on

I personally don't like this idea because it ties you down and makes you have to work from your house or shop. If someone can come all the way out to my house I can easily show them mock-ups I have out on the floor. What we need is some way to show people what we can make while on the road. That's why I origionaly had the catalogue idea but honestly I'm no too hopeful about them adding stuff that helps tailors anytime soon.

Part of me like the idea, but another part of me doesn't for the sheer fact that it puts too much creative control into the customer's hands. If they could sit around all day and mix and match where would I be needed as a tailor? I don't particlarly want to be a walking clothing despenser.

I agree with Vandessa. No to dressing room, yes to holo-imager. In my mind, the holo-imager would basically work the same way the ID interface does right now. And heck, make the imager something we have to buy from Master Artisan. I'd gladly pay something to save the cost of making a shirt or jacket (especially master-level) and having the customer say, "Not the right shade of grey" or, "ew, that jacket doesn't suit me at all".

Give me a little device, click on a person, hit use and I can throw any clothing item in my database on them visually. Heck, make the device work so that I can tell what colours I can make something before I've already committed resources to making it and I may even forget this whole "no decay, no UXP" thing!
