Thread: Not to be negative about the new colors but...

Don't want to seem ingrateful since this is the most tailor love I've seen since I started playing but...

Except for a majorly bright purple type fuchsia color that I made into a dress and all the people in my shop exclaimed they were blinded, and the orange that was desperately needed. I don't really see the big deal on the colors...they seem to just be a variation of hue on the existing ones...correct me if I'm wrong on this. Oh and the red that seems to be new seems more like an orange red and I have so many people asking fora rich red that doesn't look maroon or brown. I also get requests for a deep black, one that doesn't have the tint of green. More like the black that comes with the texture of the suit jacket, very deep. (off topic are there ANY pants that actually match the deep black of a suit jacket?)

Can someone please tell me what the hoopla is about the 55 colors? I could be missing something important here.

Thanks!

What they need to do is fix items like the Luxurious Gown where you can't change the leather Bodice part or those palettes that give you two choices ... White or ... White

A lot of palettes seemed to be limited because they wanted the texture or the material of that clothing part to correspond to the colors available, but I kind of think this is lame

Also the new colors need to apply to dusters, boots and hats. Not much point having new colors if you can't have a complete set.

My red looks 'red' to me. I like the new colors and it gave our profession a breath of fresh air... for me at least.

Almost everyone I saw yesterday asked me the same question: Can <x clothing with crappy palette> be made in <color that's not in said crappy palette>.

And I have to say: No, no new colors for that, sorry.

Hopefully we can convince someone to put the art department on Tailors, even if it's just for a day or two. Some new hats, new capes, new colors.

Has there been any explanation as to why those have a limited color selection in the first place? I mean, come on, a Rank Sash? What gives?

Unless I just can't see it I don't have a real yellow. There is a bright sort of gold color but no true "ribbed shirt prior to color change" yellow.

The red however is very red. There are two reds actually, slight variance between the two and there is a red/orange as well. Then there is the regular orange.

Some people say that it's leather that causes clothes to have limited palette. Not true. Make some long uniform gloves, they are leather but can be made any of the new colors.

So, since the ball was dropped on decay, just give us more clothes and the ability to make anything in any color we want. That mighthold us over for a little while.

If I'm not mistaken, the original complaint could be a lighting issue. I found that the new red looks rather orangish in my house as well, but that's just because torch light is extremely yellow. If you look at someone wearing the new red in the 'examine' window (or at the item while crafting), it looks pretty much a straight, primary red. Lighting is always a problem.. maybe when they fix those electric lights so they actually work (I should say IF they fix them) we can have a more colorless light in our shops.

I agree that some items should have the full palette, like gunman's dusters and uniform boots, but I don't see much hope of that changing. I think getting decay into the game should be priority #1 until they do it.

The lekku ys'rak doesn't have any hides in it, yet only the 'trim' colors use the full palette. The main part of the item uses the leather one-the item itself has a velvety look to it, not leather. Would be nice to be able to match that hat to everything else but as it it's often impossible.

not to mention, gunman's dusters are what, 4 syncloths and some metal?

Pallette restricted clothing is by and large quite annoying and unfair. The poor wookies, all excited that the 3 things they could wear in the game have been unchanged with this BRIGHT VIVRANT NEW COLORS patch. =( (yes i know they can wear more than 3 things, meet my friend sarcasm. =)

I find it funny that the leather trimmed shirt has ZERO hide or leather in it. LOL

Every time I make one... I always chuckle.

I think the new colors are wonderful for entertainers (finally had enough time to play around with them some tonight). I have yet to see an entire cantina in the new brighter colors.. but those that do wear them stand out.

My only complaint about them (aside from the fact that they don't apply to a lot of items which they should apply to--the leotard, for example) is there is NO BRIGHT YELLOW! That's one of my favorite colors, it looks dynamite paired with black (or even in a full suit, if you want to stand out and be noticed, and a lot folks do, including me), and we can't do it. The fact that it does exist on the ribbed shirt and on some dropped items shows that it is in the game, so why didn't they give it to us? While the new 55 are a vast improvement, they've still got a way to go on this.

Oh, as far as new colors, we do have a very pretty emerald green and a nice aqua that we didn't have before, in addition to the fire engine red, dayglo purple, and pumpkin orange alread mentioned. The pink that's the lightest shade of the new red is also warmer than the old pinks. I did an outfit for myself to go to a wedding in and it looked very nice.
