I saw last night some Tailor on my server selling a shirt that was +10 medicine use, and some other things.

Now....From what I have read on the NOVICE MEDIC tree. Novice grants you the skill +5 to medicine use. That grants you the use of using stimpacks.

Well, I had to drop medic....needed the points but would like to continue using stims. Will this shirt enable me to use stims? Meaning, without having NOVICE MEDIC learned?

Cheers

No, you are still required to have Novice Medic skills in order to use Stim Packs.

That's BS. (Yet ANOTHER reason I hate SOE)

Thanks for the information though.

We tried that experiment too... I understand why they don't allow it to work, but I still wish it did!

If they allowed stimpack use for non-medics with enhanced clothing, they'd also have to allow the other bonuses: entertainment healing, warcry, intimidate, maskscent, and cover for starters. Add in the dropped skill enhancements, and you could be a novice artisan/scout/marksman/brawler/entertainer (plus some skills from the advanced professions) without investing any skill points at all.

If ya wanna use the turnpike, ya gotta pay the toll.

Well we can't actually be 100% sure, since most tests seem to indicate that the bonuses don't work anyway. Especially the +med use ones.

I actually bought one of the +25 medicine use/+25 injury/+25 Wound skill .. originally in hopes of dropping novice medic and getting my 15 skill points back, but as stated above, it does not work. in fact when I first bought mine my skill mods looked like this Medicine Use +5/+25 (with Novice Medic) without Novice Medic Medicine Use +0/+25.. after a patch or 2 it looks like this Medicine Use +5 (with clothing on) Medicine use +5/-20 with it off now Im afraid to ever take it off now I did relize one thing.. you not only get the +5 skill mod with novice medic, but also the ability to use the /healdamage skill. So at best if they ever work right, u might be able to use a well crafted Stim C - with only novice medic a good set of clothing. Personally I just wish they would half the basic novices to 8 or 10 skill points

Medicine use was considered overpowering and is being removed. Fixes for most of the rest of them are going in with the next big update - please read the Dev post on the BE boards for more information.
