hello folks... I am a BE making constrictor cloth for tailor friend of mine... we are having trouble. He is trying to make synthetic cloth, and for the slot requesting "biological component", he can't get anything to work. I have tried everything I can make, and he has tried almost everthing else...

Many things with the BE profession are bugged, and I don't know if this is the result of such bugs, or if we are doing something wrong....

Could someone explain what goes in that slot? and how constrictor cloth and myoflex are used by tailor?

thank you for your assistance...

I hate this game...

constrictor cloth goes into reinforced fiber panels, and so far I have not been able to get it to work. It goes in but I don't think the affects work right.

I have made "Entertainer" Synth Cloth with cans of Myoflex, no problem. (I think Myoflex is the right name for Ent. stats, yes?) It sounds like your friend has the right idea, but I can't suggest why there's a problem at the moment.

The cloth is happily sitting in my Tailor Supplies pack, along with all my other Tapes until such time as I read stat bonuses in clothing are proven to work.

I'm also aiming for BE, as I think that is now the only interesting edge I will enjoy as a Tailor. I'm taking it slow, hoping more will get fixed.

You can put Myoflex and Passive Biosensors (if I get the name right) into synthetic cloth. Myoflex gives entertainment bonusses, the Passive Biosensors give medic bonusses.

The trick is when making clothing that ALL the synthetic cloth that is needed for the piece needs to have Myoflex or Passive biosensors added to them.

So lets say you make a medic Smock, it uses 3 synthetic cloth, all 3 need to have Passive Biosensors added to them. They don't need to have exactly the same bonusses.

Hope this helps,

None of the bio-cloth enhancers work, infact looks like they might be scrapping the line completely and making brand new bio-enhancers, its been known to cause negative effects in some cases, plz don't sell it or make clothes with it as its only gonna give BE's and tailors a bad rep.

Are you sure you don't mean the tape-like skill enhancers that go into sockets? THEY are bugged for sure.

I have never had complains about clothing that was enhanced with Myoflex or Passive Biosensors, and of course thats the first thing my customers check when they put on these clothes......

Yes, the built-in fabric enhancers don't work. The easiest way to test this is to make up a medic use set, and hand it to someone with Novice Medic only. See if they are able to use Stimpacks that they couldn't use before due to lack of skill (C? I don't remember the type). If they look at their medical use stat, it will show that they have two numbers: +10/+15 (assuming they are wearing a total of +5 in medic use clothing) - now, presume they need a skill of 12 to use a certain pack - they won't be able to, because the stat displays but doesn't actually take effect. It's been a bit since I played around with this, so the numbers are just an example, not the real numbers you will see in game.

I'm very disappointed....now I feel like I've been cheating my customers....

Weird thing is I never had a complain about it....my bio-engineer friend who has supplied me will be very unhappy with this news too....

Well, thats the end of my enhanced clothing business I guess

JelHMLD - I know everyone would love to see more recent tests... so before you give up entirely, grab a novice medic, some stimpacks that are just out of reach for them, and try it. At worst, you burn through a few BE items and find out for yourself; at best, you find out that they patched it and didn't mention, or patched it today, or whatever. Let me tell you - if you come back and say 'yep, tests WORKED', then I will definitely be making my BE friends happy by buying a bunch of items from them.

And honestly... I understand the 'feel like I've been cheating my customers' - as that is EXACTLY my gut feeling about the durability patch-o-love - I was making the promise to customers that I use only the best materials and always experiment on anything I sell them; so that when decay is kicked in, they will finally see the fruits of my efforts.

If they feel like they're getting value for their money, no harm no foul. If the placebo effect works, power to the placebo!

When the bug gets fixed, the clothes will be worth a premium price. Hopefully they'll get around to that before I go off strike.

Itty bitty tiny hijack -

You are assuming that they don't decide to 'fix' the issue by simply deleting all clothing with BE enhancements. Or turning them all into crested vests *shudder*

Oh, since I'm in a mood anyway:

i just re-tested the bleeding defense one with another friend (not tal-n this time @.@) since he said that he though they worked. turns out there was no difference in his bleeding with or without cloth. so i guess they still don't work correctly

I'd actually thought this was a known issue. On my very first week of tailoring, a BE came to me hoping to go into business with me -- which sounded fantastic to both of us. We both get to work, and an hour later, someone lets me know that the BE items are bugged. Then someone else. Then my BE shows up and tells me the very same thing. That was over a month ago, and to the best of my knowledge, things haven't changed. I sincerely wish they would; both professions could use this.
