Thread: Color Decay Proposition
I have been thinking of ways to put in clothing decay and think this would be a great method. Ok, so people in beta did not like the idea of logging in to find their prized clothing item simply gone. Understandable. We tailors need to have turnover in the marketplace in order to have sustaining business. So, how about color decay.
Lets say a player buys that prized Fighter Flightsuit or Gunman's Duster in Bright Orange. As time wears on this items ages and thecolor slowly begins to fade. So, by the end of its lifecycle you end up with a faded greyish/white item. You still have the item and can continue towear it but the color is gone. To restore the color you take it back to a tailor for repair or purchase a new item. Each time it is repaired it loses a little on its lifecycle. So that finally it can no longer be repaired and must be replaced.
How does this sound? I like it because color is really what this is all about. We all have our favorites. Our customers all have their favorites and want clothes in a specific color. I can't think of a better way. Feel free to add to this and point out thedifficulties involved.

Good point Shadyr. I suppose white/gray items would need to become more dull over time. Perhaps a shade or two darker. Any other suggestions or ideas?
I, too, think this is a good idea. It would be just like real life when your clothes go through the laundry.
But what would they do about white/grey/beige clothing?
I also thought it was be really funny if we could do clothing sizes, ehee
Why then do resources have the stats? And why is it that: Doctors, Bio Engineers, Weaponsmiths, etc be able to experiment and tailors not?

And what would clothing, originally grey/white, decay to?
a nasty combo of orange/green/purple/blue.
