Is there a tuxedo? If not, what's a good combination of clothing to look like a tux?

I think there is a tuxedo shirt, it may not be called that, exactly, though...

Previously when I've been asked to make a Tux I've used the Decorative Vest as the shirt and made it black and white. Everyone has been pleased so far.

Suit shirt, that's what I was thinking of I believe. Even has a tie on males doesn't it?

See, the open jackets just don't go that well for a tuxedo type outfit. Closest I found to decent tux jacket is the Pilot's Jacket and it only kinda works.
When I got for a tux, I make a Suit Shirt, Thin Striped Pants and a Mangy Vest. Yes it sounds odd, but it really works well. Looks casualish, but I wore it to a wedding an got many compliments on it.

Closest for a formal suit idea is:
- Suit shirt (white with black tie)
- Thin striped pants (black)
- Pilot's Jacket (black/black)
- Rugged Jacket (black)
Problem is the pockets on the shoulder of the pilot's jacket. It looks too casual. The Rugged Jacket is long, going down to the thighs, and so it's also not really a good looking suit idea, but it's a close second. The Long Formal Jacket is very nice, but it has a high collar, tightly belted and doesn't show any shirt underneath. It's just too formal. The Formal Jacket is similar, but has a tiny bowtie at the collar that blends in too much. You can't colour it differently, so it is not very noticable.

I personally prefer the Pilot's Jacket for a tuxedo look. It's not perfect, but it's about as good as we've got. It's tough to come up with a good truly "formal" look for males....

I did an opposite one of these outfits for someone going to a wedding. White jacket, black/white suit shirt, white/black striped pants and black shoes.

Yeah, some vests probably will work well with the suit shirt, and much better with it than most jackets.
