Thread: More clothing types should require synth cloth and reinforced fiberplast.

The clothing types that can give bonuses are somewhat limited. I think that most clothing that requires normal fiberplast panels should require reinforced fiberplast panels instead. Also, some clothing types should require more than 1 RFP.

Same with synth cloth. Some clothing requires 2 or more factory-only made cloths, but it only gives the bonus of 1. It should give double bonus if it requires 2, and triple for 3.

I agree, 2 cloths should equal double bonus. And you SHOULD be able to substitute reinforced fiber panels for normal fiber panels to get the bonus

I like the idea of using rfp's in the fp slot, but I have to admit to disagreeing with the stacking issue.

Scenario 1: Susie Sewer and Billy Bio are working together. Billy doesn't look closely at what the OQ is on his resources and makes up a few crates of Passive Biosensors for Susie. The stats on his tissue are +4/+4. Susie uses them in a Transport Flightsuit and low and behold, she has an item that has achieved a total +24/+24 without really trying all that hard. (I use my personal pricing system in these scenarios.) Susie sells the flightsuit for 34,000 credits.

Scenario 2: Todd Tailor has been hard at work creating reasonably priced enhanced clothing. He works with several BE's who use the best quality resources they can find to consistantly devliver high stats on their tissues. Todd can easily make +25/+25 Transport flightsuits, but charges a pretty penny for them, about 85k for it. But people buy them. They like having high end tailoring items that are enhanced.

Now, there is a great purpose for lower stats on tissues, I personally try to keep a small stock of lower statted clothing in stock so that newer players can not only afford to own enhanced clothing, but also as a way to let my customers "see" just how beneficial enhanced clothing can be.

I don't mind the way stats stack now, I think it's rather balanced and it gives people something to look forwards to. There shouldn't be a way to achieve the "best" in a few days time and SWG does a pretty good job of preventing just that from happening.

But, these are just my thoughts on this, and while I wouldn't agree with identical cloths stacking, I wouldn't get my undies in a twist about it either.....

That transport flightsuit is a single piece of clothing. No pants, no shirt, no jacket combos. Even if I took 3 separate items and added those +4 tissues, I come up with about the same.... Trade off for the one-piece outfits should not be a single stat

Everyone considers needing multiple cloths as just that, more than one. But if you think about it, in the real world, nice clothing often times takes larger quantities of fabric..so think of it as not 2 synth cloths, but one synth cloth that is twice the size, then the mods not being stacked makes sense.
This is a balance issue, too. They wouldn't be able to let you put every type of rfp mod in to a piece of clothing, it would throw everything off. This system makes people have to choose which mod is the most important to them. These things aren't supposed to substitute for skills, they are suppose to supliment them.
However, I do think that there should be more than the current selection of clothing that requires rfp's. A lot of my customers want mods, but they want to have some sense of style, too!

But what if the schematics that required fiberplast panels could be substituted with reiforced fiberplast panels?

It would give something for starting tailors to look forwards to and would also breathe new life into the artisan line of clothing.

Completely off topic here, I have started to make Artisan line clothing with the master and tailoring 4 colors and people are jumping on them. It gives a different look from the typical outfits and it's always fun to hear, "did they add new clothes to the game?"

"I think that most clothing that requires normal fiberplast panels should require reinforced fiberplast panels instead."

Well the only clothes that require normal fiberplast panels are in the Domestic Arts line in Artisan. Starting tailors don't have the schematic for RFP, so requiring RFP instead of normal ones would gate starting tailors.

RFP are only used in clothes in the Fieldwear line, because that is the line that contains that schematic. It works the same way for other components, trim, jewelry settings, shoe soles, cargo pockets.

I do agree that there should be some schematics that allow for multiple single RFP, as is the case with synthetic cloth.

There definetly needs to be more clothes that require RFP. I cringe everytime I have to tell a customer that the wearables for most of the popular "Combat Tissues" is quite a limited list

I do not think tissues should stack within a single slot. I do, however, think a few of the multi RFP items should have the slots broken apart so we have more opportunity for stacking. I use 4 different tissues in RFP for combat and would be nice to make an item that has both (for example) bleed and melee features in it.

SC seems to be the only thing that has many opportunities for stacking.

While we are whistling dixie for new ideas, I would like to see the Wookiee Battle Padding and the Crested Padding---arguably military/combat type clothing--switch to RFP required so wookies may have some combat stat clothing.
