Thread: Will you retire with the proposed Vendor Cap?
Just post here if you plan on retiring as a tailor if this vendor cap is implemented. No explanation, no anger, no response, just an Aye vote.
I'd like to get a good idea of the number of tailors, (or other Elite crafters for that matter) who will give up on their chosen profession.
Thanks!
No
I make all of my clothes custom order and that's where I make alot of my money. Make more money selling crates of Syn cloth, dump 80 or so on my vendor, it's bought up almost instantly so it stays empty.
I have an alt that is a master merchant so I probably won't have to close my shop, but I'll have to dedicate 5 out of 6 vendors just to clothing. My fiance wants 2 for armor but he can't have them, they're precioussss.
Otherwise, I would close shop and only do custom orders for a select few people.
no ,,,i just wont stock items that are priced or can be purchased on the bazaar for 6000 and under,,which by the way is likely to mean that any,,master tailor item will be available on the bazaar at 6000 or less.
My vendors will have bio clothing and skill tapes and if someone wants a custom order of non-bio clothing I am going to charge them 6000 minimum 15000 for any master item and levels inbetween and if thats too high they can go stand at a bazaar and spam,,looking for a master tailor,,but I wont be driven crazy doing custom orders at bazaar pricing. And rest assured clothing prices are about to fall.
On the merchant forum there is a very insightful post,,and it essentially says,,they continue to break whats not broken and ignore what is. Already 76% or so of the players are voting for the bazaar limits to be raised,,I say,,,fine,,but I wont have room for $1000-4000 level items on my vendors and wont be willing to custom make them either, unless they pay a large premium.
Fortunately for me, and lots of other tailors ,,our fortunes have been made and I dont have to sell anything but what I find profitable and fun to make. Lets let the hologrinders fill the gap ,,,hehe
I'll probably always keep my tailor skills. It was my first advanced profession, and I earned it without grinding, so I'm not eager to give up those months of work. But if these changes go through I'm still a little undecided about what to do. I'll probably just end up crafting for PA members and city citizens.
I'll probably keep Merchant, but try and run a fewpure merchant shops, selling things on consignment as a service for my area's crafters that don't want to get Merchant skills of their own. For money I'll just go more completely into the rare loot business.Today Ifinally joined the ranks of the "greedy millionare crafters" but I didn't get there with my tailor skills. I lucked into a high bonus skill tape that I sold for a shocking amount of credits.
My tailor shop isn't really about profit. It's about fun. But if they're going to make it so that I can't properly stock my shop, I don't think it'll be that fun anymore. SoI may just decide to not have one at all.
No.
Not sure what I am doing wrong, but I have trouble keeping 3 vendors stocked with at most 100 items each...
I'll keep my skills because I can't stand not being able to change clothes 500 times a day and satisfy my slightest clothing whim instantly. But I'll most likely go solely to custom orders, tailoring for friends, etc. I've pretty much retired from the retail grind, anyway. After you've made several million, your need for money largely evaporates.
I still think this is a horrible idea, though, and yet another indication that tailors rank about zero in the devs' priority lists.
Maybe it won't go through as proposed. We and lots of other classes are shouting them down on this one. If they do, we'll be safe until they try yet another bone headed idea to fix database problems by screwing crafters and merchants.
