Not sure exactly what you mean, but the cap for any profession's xp is double the highest amount you need for an availabe skill box. So if you need 20k for your highest availabe skill box (one that you qualify for) your xp cap for that type of xp would be 40k.

it doesnt seems to be the case with me.
when i was at field wear 1 , going for field wear 2, my xp capped at around 56000 which is around 12k more than field wear 1, not double?

hmm, well I don't know. It could have changed, I haven't paid much attention to the xp caps lately.
