Thread: Mannequins?

I submitted that idea to Jake Rodgers, the art director, as part of my summary of the Art Team:What Women Want thread. I included it in the merchant section. I didn't suggest any specifics of how such a thing might work or anything, just this:

Mannequins: To display clothes or armor.

Personally, I use Infiltrator suits as mannequins, although sometimes the suit will bleed through the item that is placed on it. I just pick where I want to display the clothes, then drop all the items that I want to make the outfit. They will all properly position themselves, although they may have tobe rotated to face the proper direction.

I like the invisible mannequin look personally. Although in a fit of twisted kinkiness, I put a Tusken Raider helm/head on a black fleshwrap and cold weather gloves. My guildmate--who is known for her dominatrix personality in RP--has the whole thing on display in her house LOL.

Has anyone posted a request for mannequins?

They could count as a single item in the structure, and any clothes put on them count os zero (like they do for us)

If you are a guy, and a Mon cal (no gloves, urg!), its difficult to display stuff (thanks to the STUPID item cap) And a Mannequin would solve that. A Tailor would make it too, but I wouldn't cry if they put it in Master Artisan, or maybe Furniture.

We are hit the hardest with the STUPID item caps, with dozens and dozens of stuff to show.

Jedi will never be a starting profession...Looted items and quest items will never be better then crafted items, this is not a loot based game...CH will return shortly...CH and BE will not be back in game...Rangers are getting their revamp next!...The stealth system will not be changing in the spy expertise...Need any more examples of things the devs said that did not hold true?

I like the part where a mannequin + all clothes on it = 1 item.

But based on current game mechanics, I would assume that would mean that the names of the clothing items would not appear upon mouseover. That part I would not like. For me at least, it is important for my customers to be able to know what they are looking at, so they know what to order.

If the names show up, I am all for this.

i am not a tailor, but i am a dancer and i have far more clothes than i will ever know what to do with. so, i have been using some to decorate my cantina (eclipse server, dantooine, mesric city, the symposium if you ever feel like dropping by ) and i was thinking how clothing just sitting there without anything to hold it up is kind of silly looking.

and then i thought mannequins, both male and female form! wouldn't have to be a terribly detailed thing, more like a simple humanoidshaped figure.might be nice as a way to display clothing for tailors. perhaps that might be a nice little item to add to a wish list, though i doubt it will get picked up by the devs, it might be a fun little thing to have to display clothing in shops, and of course, for people to put some of their clothes on in their houses, or in my case, their cantinas

heh, great minds think alike. This is an old idea, I'm pretty sure it is on the wish list .

This idea I think, is so basic and integral that people think it up spontaneously every month or so. Which kinda makes you wonder why the devs havn't done anything about it .

I made some mannequins for my shop. I used a tactical skinsuit for the body -- all one color --and a padded armor helm for the head. I found that I could put a Revealing fleshwrap on them as well as the exotic leotard. You have to play with dropping the mannequin form down then the clothing to see which ones will fit the best. Good luck

My personal wishlist item would be a mannequin that, evenwhen fully dressed, would take up one unit of space in a house. Most tailors are at or near their house's item limit, so this would go a long way in helping us showcase what we can do.

I have occassionally seen a call for clothing/armor mannequins (sp?) in various places on the forums and wondered if this was something being pursued, or if the Dev's closed it.

While most armor stands on its own without looking...weird...the "arms outstretched" looks ridiculous, as does "incomplete" suits that have gaps in them. I always thought a silver mannequin would look good and allow armors like Ubese to be shown off without that horrid "invisible arm" problem.
