Today I spent a few hours on the test server checking out the galaxy wide search on the bazaar. I started off as a lowly newbie since I've never taken the time to grind out anything on that server. I have to say that I was a bit worried about price wars on clothing because of this new search feature, but after playing with it a bit today, I honestly don't think that it's going to be an issue.
First off, I got very irritated when I bought some grind quality fiberblast off of the bazaar from a vendor in Corellia. I thought I was getting a great deal as it was 1:1. The time that I had to take in travelling out to the middle of nowhere from Naboo to Corellia because there wasn't a shuttleport close by blew my savings right out of the water with the time I wasted in getting myself out there. I'm going to apply that knowledge to other customers in that they will spend a bit more to save themselves the time and trouble with starports and shuttles if the location is convenient. I know that once this goes live, there will be more shuttleport options and player cities, but location is still going to be very important.
As a crafter, I can't say enough about the convenience of being able to buy grind quality fiberblast that isn't priced at some ridiculous 3cpu per unit. Yes, I do think there will be price wars, just not with clothing. Resources are going to go down in price. There are certain things that players (crafters) have to buy in bulk. Organic and inorganic resources are what we live on. Crafters will be more apt to go the distance in purchasing those items and save some money, where clothing is generally gotten as a matter of convenience. (Sad, but true).
But, it would be nice if in the bazaar search function there was some way to tell the exact location with a waypoint before purchasing the item. I'd like to be able to find out if it's worth buying something and then having to travel over 6000 kilometers out of my way to get it because the vendor is in the middle of the boonies.
Anyway, that's my take on it as a master tailor/merchant/architect. Maybe I'm wrong and a price war will hit us after it goes live, but I'm betting that if we hold out against those who want to charge 200 credits or less for their clothing will soon be bought out and out of business when they realize it won't be worth it to them for the chump change.

Aye i like the sound of it on one hand.
However i forsee problems that are not with the system itself but how it will impact player driven economies.
Currently you have big popular crafters on every server, and many more smaller time crafters who do well on their own but allways much smaller scale.
when players can see the big popular crafters next to the smaller crafters goods on a bazaar what kind of effect will this have?
will quality of stock, naming methods, quantities in stock all have a big impact?
From a tailor point of view.. my stock is higher than about any other tailor ive ever seen on farstar. Im at the 4000 vendor limit on just clothes, i dont even do sub components. When people will search the bazaar in this new system, my name is on the tittle of every clothing item i make, so it will be a well visible name on any page of clothing people would look at.
Ive no idea how this will impact things, will people look around for other alternatives to me more often? or will people all go to me simply because i stock about everything you'd need from a tailor? will i be competing more often with the smaller time tailors or will i be running them out of buisness?
Its going to be hard to tell untill it is in, but if i get rid of competition unintentionally it will just make my buisness harder to run and even more busy, which is something i do not really want.
Obviously this is a concern of mine, maybe it will have very little impact other than people being able to find what they need a lot quicker. In the end i just hope i dont get any buisier than i already am.

How can you possibly keep that much in stock all the time! I cannot keep up with demand! If I even tried to keep up, I would be tailoring 24/7 and I just can't do that.

Not really, once you get up to the main limit the first time,
{sure that part may take a week or a few days to do}
But keeping it there is no diff then keeping up stock of 1000 items.
Sell 10 itesm of 1000 stock 10, or sell 10 items of 4000 stock 10......
But it does give a bigger slection on hand at most any time.

I don't want to burst anyone's bubble, but prices on TC are lower than prices on live, and 1cpu resources is more common than live servers.
don't get me wrong, there are 1cpu stuff on live too (and I recently bought some after a search on bike around coronet), but when everyone else can also search on the bazaar the 1cpu vendor would sell out quickly. most folks looking for grind quality resources would probably still have to pay 2+cpu for it.
