The secret to Wearables Factories

Ok I have been making lots of items in factories lately. After much trouble and buggyness I finally figued it out.

1. Redeed factory before every batch (since this is free now no problem).

2. Place ingredients in the hopper in the order listed on the datapad schematic. Just jot down the order before you start.

3. For subcomponents if items have to be identical you can just put in the crates. A notable exception, Metal Fasteners have to be unpacked whether identical or similar. This means most of the time you are running 25 item batches due to inventory limits.

4. For subcomponents that only have to be similar you must unpack them into your inventory and then drag them into the ingredient hopper (maintaining the order listed in the datapad). Also if you made the schematic with a factory made subcomponent treat it as identical for ingredient purposes but still unpack it.

5. Sometimes rarely it will tell you out of ingredient and stop. Remove everything from the input hopper and put it back in the ingredient hopper placing an extra item than needed for the subcomponent that the factory said it was missing.

NOTE: USE THE DATAPAD SCHEMATIC (NOT THE SCHEMATIC YOU CREATED) TO DETERMINE HOPPER ORDER. THE ITEMS NEEDED LIST FROM THE OPTIONS MENU IS THE WRONG ORDER.

Also I have not used Jewelry Setting, Cargo Pockets, or Shoe Soles in the factory yet so I dont know if They need to be unpacked like Metal Fasteners. If your factory stops and says you are missing an item which you have in there crated you probaqbly need to unpack it. Remember to remove all items then put them back in order.

I hope this helps and wasn't too confusing. Any feedback is welcome

Intersting reading, although most of it is greek to me.. I am currently searching around for more basic information regarding factories. Like how many lots does a factory take, what items can be made, how many items can be made, do I have to buy crates to pack the items in or will the factory make them, can I pack resources in crates and will that crate then take less room in inventory than having all the resources stored separately, etc etc etc and all the other questions I dont yet know how to ask

DaiLai,

A factory takes one lot (thank god for that)

Everything I've tried to make (tailor related) in my factory has worked, butsome of the complicated items have taken a bit of playing around to make them work.. see Rava's post above.

You can do runs of up to 100 items successfuly. Used to be able to do 1000, but this causes factories to throw tantrums now and is therefore not recommended.

No, you don't buy crates. The factory generates them. I've determined this is The Force at work.

Each crate (usually 25-50 items per crate) takes up only 1 slot in your inventory or in your bank or in your house.. etc.

Ask away... we're here to help!
