I was making a pair of camo pants last night and I could have sworn that there were new colors available for Color 1 of the pants. Maybe they just changed the layout of something but it looks to me like there are more colors.

Hmm, I just checked and I'm still getting the 255 colour palette for both colour 1 & 2. So no new colours that I can see

Resizing your crafting window vertically will change the arangement of the palettes, making them appear to contain more or less colors when they really don't.

I thought so. I knew they didnt add any new colors. It's just layed out nicely now in neat rows and columns.
