At the moment I'm 0/0/3/0 in Tailor, I hope to master it in the year 2007 with a bit of luck. One of my guild members asked me if I could make him a belt with sockets in it.

How do I do this ?

What skill do I need to place sockets.

Edited because I'm dumb

sockets are random...also to spead your progress, if your into grinding...make ribbed shirts and fill the field wear tree first, then grind cartidge belts the rest of the way. much faster and easier

You will get better sockets as you progress up xxx4 of tailor, meaning that the average will climb up towards 2 sockets per item. At master, it is 2.5 - 2.75 sockets per item. If you are making items in the artisan boxes, then it is the artisan experimentation in the 4xxx boxes that grant better socket chances.

There are a few belts in the artisan tree that you may get sockets on. You'll know the item has sockets because the final product in your inventory will have a colored name. Sockets range from 0-4 with no method to the madness.
