a message to the devs to start: you burn crafters at every turn. useless buffs that dont help some of us in any way are not content. they are useless and unused and a complete waste of YOUR time. charging us foran expansionthat provides temp use shcematics to SOME professions is shady. but making these schematics only attainable through combat is entirely unfair to the crafter who uses them.combat profscan loot their own SEAs and even weapons (yes i know they are bad but its an option). Jedi can loot their own crystals and pearls. shipwrights can loot their own ship parts and obtain the KSE schem. why cant every other crafter obtain their own temp use schematics? it is unfair and a stealth money maker for combat profs. in short, we are paying customers too... start acting like we are.

onto the idea

since were getting burned on content once again, i had this idea to help multiple crafting professions at the same time using pieces of the game that already exist!

NEW PET: The Wearables Droid

The wearables droid has 2 slots, one for the holographic emitter (to be explianed) and one for the clothing/armor crafting unit. it has 10 storage built in and included (no module necessary). it will only hold resources, components, and factory crates.

While out, the tailor/armorsmith can use the raidal menu to select a "consultation" on grouped players. This opens a window similar to the Image Designer window. On one side you have a list of schematics and on the other is a picture of the target stripped to down to underwear (a check box willtoggle the currently worn clothing to appear if desired). First select the schematic, on the far right the color pallete for that schematic will appear and the tailor/armorsmith can alter the color as the customer wishes.

mutliple pieces of clothing can be added to create an entire outfit from scratch. Once the session is completed and accepted by both parties the droid then automatically sends a list of the items and spreadsheet grid markings to indicate the colors. so A1 is the first color on the pallete. A10 is the last color in the first row of the pallete and so on.

each session uses 10% of the droids battery (so 10 sessions per battery). each holographic module can only be used 1000 times. After 1000 total sessions the droid must be replaced with a new one (a new source of continuing business for DE's)

Devs, this reason rules because:

-tailors would mess around with this for HOURS on end. trying different outfits, color combos, accesories, shoes, vests, jackets, hats, belts, bandos, and backpacks.

-Armorsmith good are expensive! especially health enhanced goods. This system would negate the loss of an Armorsmith accidentally picking the wrong color... or the customer asking for health enhanced pink ris... seeing it... then saying "i thought that pink would be different... i dont want it anymore"

-This would also allow tailors to craft entire outfits to stock on a vendor by using the droid.

-It would create another renewable market for droid engineers.

-it would be excellent if tailors and armorsmiths to be able to at least show the"goth" players (the players that wear all black all the time) what can be done with different colors and even let them join in to create a unique and fun look for themselves.

-it will increase purchases of custom bio-engineer clothing as tailors no longer have to worry about eating the cost of the tissues.

So there you have it. Combat profs benefit by having the look they have always wanted without having to settle for anything. Tailors get endless hours of content. Armorsmiths dont have to destroy expensive health enhancement layers. Droid Engineers get a new schem and a renewable source of business. its a winning situation for everyone!

This is a neat idea. I know the idea of a maniquine Droid as well as something similar to what you're suggesting has been mentioned before.

The problem is that Tailor, as a profession, is relatively bug-free. Many other professions cannot say that. Because of that, the devs have Tailor-related content sort of low on the totem pole it would seem, and with good reason i'd say, as there are many broken professions in desparate need of attention.

Now as far as the looted schemes goes, we, as crafters, do not need to purchase the expansion. You can if you want to, but you don't need to. You could get a guildie, or some other friend to go get the schematics for you. That's the way it has always been. There were tons of weaponsmith schemes looted in the Geo bunker, and i wouldn't even think of taking my crafter there. I do have the luxury of having 2 accounts, so i will be getting the expansion for my other account, which is my combat toon. I do wish that we would get more content, but unfortunatly, new crafter content won't sell more copies of the game in the store. Most people will want to get the game to become a Jedi (unfortunatly) and to kill stuff. But it would be nice to get a bunch of new schemes, like we did with JTL, but i guess we'll have to wait and see.

tailor is bug free?

our factories work... sometimes

our clothing can be worn when broken and we will get less repeat business over time

most of our "functional" items are broken and useless

Our color palletes dont match/dont make sense/ are not organized in any logical manner (how hard would it be to label the columns and rows?)

Females can't wear belts as the look like hoola hoops

multiple clothing items clip and look terrible because of it

the major problem listed here is that we get no repeat business. Especially on our BE clothing which our money maker. thats how we get paid! they dont decay and can be worn forever. The only reason someone would buy a new one is if they wanted a different color. But once an SEA is dropped into the shirt they will wear it forever. Tailor has plenty of bugs and if left alone will only get worse.

How much fun will the combat professions have once the devs ruin the game for the crafters and the majority of us leave? lack of content, bugs that severely effect the way we play (factory crate bug, no repeat business, money maker items broken), and having to put up with constantly being pushed into combat (no way to achieve jedi without entering into combat, no way to obtain the loot we need without entering combat ((even smugglers have a small chance to loot their own stuff BTW... more efficient to get it from a BH... but what chance does a CL1 have exactly?))

there are other professions out there. But every crafting profession is largely ignored! Droid engineer's have a couple items to sell... and most only sell bounty hunter droids and do a few custom orders here and there.

our factories work... sometimes - Publish 24 is fixing it, and personally, the few times i've made crated clothing, i have NEVER had the colors not stick.

our clothing can be worn when broken and we will get less repeat business over time - This is most likely never going to be changed, just because of the huge backlash from players. this has been in the game since day 1 i think, and so to fix it now would upset a huge amount of the player base. i agree it should be fixed, but i don't see it being fixed anytime soon.

most of our "functional" items are broken and useless - Not quite sure what you mean by "functional" items, so i can not comment on that one.

Our color palletes dont match/dont make sense/ are not organized in any logical manner (how hard would it be to label the columns and rows?) - Not really a bug, just something we'd all like to see changed someday

Females can't wear belts as the look like hoola hoops - This is a bad bug, i agree, but not sure how feasable it would be to fix. things like belts and bandoliers have got to be tough to squeeze down to fit very skinny waistelines. It could be possible to scale them down, but at the same time, it would also scale down the height (Z axis) of the item as well in order for it to appear right, and would look really odd. but i'd like to see it fixed

multiple clothing items clip and look terrible because of it - just courious, besides Extremely Revealing Skirt, which other items do this? i've never seen others do it, but i'm sure there might be others.

the major problem listed here is that we get no repeat business. - Don't just blow off the desire for a different colored item. I have customers who own 10 different versions of the same BE'ed pair of pants, with different colors, in order to suit their mood. i do a ton of repeat business. many players are always looking for a new "look". (plus this is the same bug as the second one you listed.)

How much fun will the combat professions have once the devs ruin the game for the crafters and the majority of us leave? lack of content, bugs that severely effect the way we play (factory crate bug, no repeat business, money maker items broken), and having to put up with constantly being pushed into combat (no way to achieve jedi without entering into combat, no way to obtain the loot we need without entering combat ((even smugglers have a small chance to loot their own stuff BTW... more efficient to get it from a BH... but what chance does a CL1 have exactly?)) - Crafters won't ever completely be removed, or leave voluntarily. people will always want things like weapon powerups, new clothing, new weapons, new armor, foods, ship parts, ect. Personally, my business has been better since the CU hit live than it was pre-CU. And it is possible to become a Jedi with no combat skills. I remember a few months ago a Tailor posted on the forums that she unlocked Jedi without any combat skills. You just need a friend to help with the Mellinche mission.

there are other professions out there. But every crafting profession is largely ignored! Droid engineer's have a couple items to sell... and most only sell bounty hunter droids and do a few custom orders here and there. - Yes, crafters do need attention, but as I've stated before, it's the combat profs that sell boxes in the store. And many of them have needed a great deal of attention for a long time. Creature Handler finally got some attention, Squad Leader is finally having some value added in publish 24, and Ranger is finally being given a role in the game. Jedi and BH's will constantly need to be rebalanced, because they are the 2 biggest profs, and it has historically been these 2 profs that have dictated the course of the game (unfortunatly). I know it may be futile to even say this, but hopefully once the Rangers get their revamp, and Smugglers get the ability to smuggle stuff, than the devs will put their attention towards Entertainers, and give them a bit more attention than the buffs, then start focusing on giving the Crafters some love.

Comments in Red.(by the way, i'm not trying to argue, i'm just stating that there are other things that are most likely bigger priorities than adding new stuff to crafting profs).

And once again, i do love the droid idea, as it's always a risk to give someone a clothing item to try on before they buy. luckily i've never had anyone steal anything from me when i do that.
