A copy from a post of mine in hte Merchant forums, just want to get theis info to as many as possible, especially my fellow tailors.
Last night I had an almost game-calling tragedy occur. While creating vendors (create, examine, destroy, repeat as necessary), all of a sudden I noticed that my resource backpack (where I keep 95% of all my resources and components, thousands and thousands of units of organic and inorganic) was GONE. I thought perhaps it was one of those disappearing items things (happened with something else recently) so I tried logging out and logging back in to no avail. But something told me (the force?) that this was not just your ordinary bugged backpack. So I got to playing around trying to see if I could make something happen (in the meantime accidently dragging my "land pack" onto ANOTHER vendor, but that one isn't that big a deal, just my crafting tools (easily replaced) and maybe a vehicle customization kit, etc in it...I think). But that in playing around, it hit me...I read back through my chat..and sure enough..if I had been standing up my knees would have buckled. I had dragged my precious resources onto one of those hags (aka vendor) WHILE IT WAS STILL IN MY INVENTORY. I didn't even know that was possible, why would it be?
So I open a ticket, explaining what had happened and this morning I wake up to a reply. Since the vendor had been destroyed (why do I have to be so picky???) there was no way of retrieving the items off of it. However, if I could supply a list of quantities and exact names of everything in it, they would verify with the log and reimburse me for the items. While I appreciate that, it is basically useless for me. As a tailor, I rarely if ever look at the exact names of resources unless it is a named resource, and even then I don't keep a running tally of how much I have on any given day. Dont' get me wrong, I don't blame the CSRs at all, I am sure they did whatever they could to help. It's just the way it is.
It just makes me sick to think about it. I am basically starting at square one resource-wise, I have a few stacks of this and that stored in my shop, but I don't even know if I have any fiberplast anymore. But this isn't about me, I will be fine, between my MDE hubby and my guild, eventually I will be able to get back on my feet. But I cannot imagine this happening to someone who didn't have that support. So PLEASE when creating vendors, be careful of your mouse clicking and dragging. Losing all one's resources is bad enough, but they are all replaceable, I can't imagine how much it would have cost to replace a backpack of armor and weapons (like on my combat alt), or in the other crafting professions all the HQ resources they have to acquire, or a backpack full of buffpacks.
I hope this situation at least spares others of having to basically start all over again.

Wow, i'm really sorry to hear that.
But thanks for the heads up. I'll have to make sure to be careful when i get Hiring 4 and I start dressing the vendors.

Contact me on Wanderhome, I can set you up with some resources for tailoring if you need any. I have most of what I need and have plenty to spare. I may not have everything, but I can prolly set you up with some 100k stacks of stuff to get you rolling again.
Oh, and not to confuse anyone, I meant free. Also, I have a ton of heavy duty leather and clasps and stuff if you lost all that too.

This is awful
At least tailors have easy-to-find resources, but still, to lose an entire backpack? I knwo that I can keep most of my crafting supplies in one pack and if I lost that, I would be set back severely.

Thank you so much. :-) I think between my husband and my guildmates, I should be alright though. :-) However, if I am unable to find some of the more rare resources (nabooian scaley hide for example) I just might take you up on that offer. :-)
Thank goodness, I don't carry the schematics, BE cloths, and loot components with me! I really didn't even think of that until this morning.
