How much do you stock in your shops? Do you keep only the high models, some of each, how many pieces of each? I am curious, I don't get many clients a day yet, and I try to keep one copy of each clothes on my vendor, but I am wondering, what do people do usually when there is not the color they are looking for. Do they leave, do they ask you? In this case, how many different colors for each item do you keep on your vendor?

I try to stock 3 or 4 of anything I make in black(there are other colors people *_*). Now with the new categories, I keep at least 5 of any paticular category in stock so theyll be something there as most people don't use the ALL tab but click right to clothes. A steady stream of tactical suits and spec-op packs and gunmans dusters everyday as well. I hit the 5 brightest colors for dancer clothes and dresses and don't forget some wookie gear for our big shaggy brethren, they'll appreciate it.

For men's wear, I usually stock black thin-striped pants with a blood-red stripe (my *Solo Special* line <g>, black side-buttoned shirts, black dress shoes and white rugged jackets. For women's wear, I almost *never* useblack in my stock - orange, blue, and cranberry are popular colors. I also supply matching dress slippers for most of my gowns.

Lately I've been trying to stock around 4 or 5 of each tier 4/master level item, in assorted colors such as black/red/blue/green/white. I also try to stock the same level in a few tier 3 items such as cloaks, bustiers, spec-ops dusters, desert command jackets, etc.

I have some people ask for styles/colors that aren't on the vendor, but I figure that a lot of them just leave if they don't find what they want.

I have about 150 womens items, 100 mens/unisex items, and 50 wookiee items in stock at all time.

With mens, I do alot of blacks of course, but I make alot of wild stuff to and it gets purchased by adventurous men Lots of basics like boots etc too.

With womens I make sure I have entire lines in same color so they can mix and match. I also do not make the same color of high end items...who needs to see 7 dancers all in purple fleshwraps? I make unusual colors, bright colors, metallic colors....I really try to allow for some uniqueness.

Even with all that stock (which I sell alot of) I still have about 10-30 custom orders a day. I spend the first 3 hours of every day restocking, grabbing materials, and firing up the factory (or kicking it, as of late with that bug lol). Then I attack my custom orders, which are in email thankfully. When I'm done, then I'll go hunt---or enjoy some music at the cantina and watch my clothes in action lol.

Hard work but I love it

Wow ... no wonder folks compliment me on my inventory ... I try keep 3-5 of EVERYTHING I can make. So items are only 1 or 2 examples but others are more than 5.

I go the opposite way from some of you. I have hundreds of items on my two vendors (on menswear/adventure wear, the other ladies'/entertainment wear) -- but I have no where near *everything* I can make, mostly because at least half of what I can make is ugly as sin and I wouldn't sell it. And a lot of other things are too similar or just not quite as nice looking as something else. (I mean, why stock Wrapped Boots when High Quality Boots looks so much better, and you get a lot more money for them.) I think customers can be confusedtoowide of a selection, and just want to know what looks good.

So what I do is have a selection of the items that I think are best-of-breed, and then stock these in a wide variety of colors. Obviously, the cloaks, boots, gloves etc. are only in the basic colors. The mens' shirts and stuff I'll do in a wider range (usually black, white, grey, indigo, wine, forest, etc. -- nice manly colors, none of the really bright colors). The really popular womens' items (like the bustiers and fleshwraps) I'll have one each in 23 different colors. I've found that this keeps the special orders down to a minimum.

Of course, keeping all this stock up with a factory that doesn't work all the time is a definite challenge.... but that's a different board!

I keep 2-3 of every item I can make (well besides the lower end Domestic Arts stuff.) Granted I'm fairly low end on Tailor, I have all the Tier 1 skills. Still thats enough to have 40-80 items on each of my three vendor NPC's. You guessed it, Casual Wear, Formal Wear, Gear.

I'm like Ghartan, but all on one vendor, not 5. Basically, I try to have at least one "sample" of everything I can make, just for reference if nothing else. But greater numbers of the best selling things, and lots of color-coordinated mix-and-match jacket and pants combinations.

Footwear. Lots and lots of footwear - boots, shoes, leather dress shoes, & heels. I use leather hide to make them all (when hide is required). In every color that I can make.

Since I am still in the early stages ofmy tailoring career I tend to keep the more simple items in stock such as jackets, pants, shirts, and skirts.

The bulk of my stock is in 7 different colors: white, black, blue, cranberry, green, pink, purple. I make several different items in these colors so that my customers can mix and match: light bustiers, small bustiers, striped slacks, short skirts, flex-form shirts, muscle shirts, lined workshifts, hot pants, form fitting undershirts, leather trim shirts, pleated skirts, etc. Then I'll do a few cloaks in black, brown and white. These all seem to be popular colors. Cranberry and black are incredibly popular colors.

I think my naming system helps sales a lot. I always put the item color in the name. Like a blue light bustier is: Light Bustier (blue) by Rhiamon or Striped Slacks (cranberry) by Rhiamon. It makes it a lot easier for customers to mix and match their outfits.

How many items can you stock in a vendor? I was stocking mine up the other night, and it seemed to quit counting, just said that it was displaying items 1-100 when I clicked on All. I'm not sure if that's all that it was displaying, or if it just stopped counting. You know, there might have been a next button too, I don't remember... Anyone know though, what the limit of items you can sell in your vendor is?

I try to stock a variety of items in a wide array of prices. I buy lower end items from new tailors for like 20 credits then resell these items to players for like 25-30 credits. It's better for the new tailor as she/he can make some money and better for people buying items, they can buy MORE and if they don't like it they only spent 25 credits on it. So a dancer could find an entire outfit without spending a fortune.

I also have the high end Master tailor items on a separate vendor, BH pack, flightsuits and so on, nothing under 8000 on that vendor.

I have a third vendor with alot of special military line of clothing using the bio enhanced compants. Plus the dusters and camos and field gear. You can do quite well just going up the field gear tier.

I have another vendor with just wookie items. It happens to be a wookie too.. heh.. so anything on my wookie vendor the wookies know they can wear. I try to put bandoliers, belts and packs on there too. This guys sells alot and is hard to keep him stocked.
