Thread: Selling outfits
I brought this up in Beta, but never harped on it much,so I thought I'd toss it out for discussion.
We really ought to have some method of selling a set of dissimilar items on the bazaar and on vendors. That would allow us to coordinate and package a whole outfit, rather than throwing shirt A and pants B up on the bazaar and hoping they sell as a matched set.
The same capability would also be useful for armorsmiths, who also deal in full sets, and chefs and artisans who could sell a bag of low-cost items rather than having to list each one seperately.
I'm not sure how the categorization would work. There might have to be a "collections" subcategory under clothing, and every item in the container sold in that category would have to belong to the main category. I'm opento more elegant solutions.
A similar capability existed in UO, and it lent itself to a variety of applications limited only by the imagination of the packager.
There is a workaround. Put everything in a pack and sell it with a name like "uber 1337 matrix jedi hooded outfit". ![]()
I think the "Set Name" radial on packs was intended for house sorting, but it works nicely in this situtation.
For the record this isn't even my own idea... a non-Tailor PA mate came up with it, and we dida test sell to make sure it would work. I'm posting it here because I assume many of you have come up with the idea independently. If not, whoops... ![]()
I have yet to implement this on my vendor, primarily because I've been too busy.
