A tailor can get sockets in everything .. except a few things like the Grand Ball Gown. So you could have a Shirt, Pants, Jacket, Boots, Gloves, and a Bandolier, all with 4 sockets.

Also, the Sockets are randomly determined. I've heard that recently sockets have become much more difficult to get in clothes.

Sockets can't be put into jewelry and the sockets in backpacks do not work, though.

Sockets seem to be generated according to your type of completion. Great Success = 4, good success =2-3 and so on. At least when I pay attention this seems to be the trend, and they are not that difficult I get them on almost every item of clothes I make.

Well, I, for one would love to know how you do it! A friend asked for 6 items each with four sockets a few weeks back..trust me..I would only agree to this for a good friend. On my master tailor/master artisan, wearing +12 assembly (the one that should matter) and +8 experimentation (for all the good that does), using a 45 quality crafting station and 14.97 quality tool and standing in the research center where I live, it took 47 attempts to get the 4 sockets on all 6 items (and I've noticed much lower success when using my droid).

A couple of months ago I could have made your same statement, but not after the infamous Wookiee Pillow Patch!

OOPS! Just realized you were referring to getting Any sockets, whereas I was talking about my recent experience with trying to get 4 sockets.
