Thread: Fashion Show ???
Heya All, I'm curious, has anyone ever attempted to organize and put on a fashion show?I've been talking with another tailor in my guild, and we were thinking about putting on a fashion show to debut our new lines of clothing in the coming months. I'm thinking of doing it all swanky like, with models (players) strutting their stuff and showing off the new fashions. This would be in conjunction with the two of us opening new shops (vendors) complete with the new lines of clothing.
Logistically I think it'll be a pretty herculean task, what with organizing the people necessary and getting the models to be on cue and not crowding each other on the runway. Hell anyone know if there's a building in the game that has a runway?
I'm just curious it it's been tried before and if so how successful it was or was not. Thoughts / Ideas / questions / ect?
Thanks!

Ihave an alternate runway idea...but you wouldn't be able to walk on it
The cantina stage seems like the best idea to me, possibly you could add some bookcases stacked on top of each other to keep the models from being seen as they're waiting in the wings?

finding the models wasnt that hard, i had three men and three women, most of them i got from the roleplaying community im in (Chimaera - Mos Entha Roleplaying Community), and one or two personal friends that i forced to model
each model showed two outfits each also..
i spent loads of money on the clothes (which the models of course got to keep after the show), and hours of planning, but it was well worth it!
the house we had it in is, i believe, was a large tat house.. not completely sure on that though..
problems during the evening:
my announcer crashed twice right before we were supposed to start, so i had to "take the microphone" myself..
one of my models got the clothes bug, the one that makes all the rest see her in her old clothes, even if she changes clothes.. (that one was a complete panic! didnt notice it until she was already out on the runway.. so what to do? i pretended that it was my clothes.. and just kept talking.. then another model helped her make sure that the bug disappeared before she went out again..)
heres some screenies from the evening:

there were a few outfits that changed on stage, jackets that was slipped off and thrown over the shoulders, robes and short wraps that were removed to show swim suits.. stuff like that..
over all, it was a very fun event to make, and ill probably do it again some time
Sold alot of clothes that day - along with a friend of mine that sold several sets of armor.
