Okay time for me to plagiarize get your feedback!
Ackdel put up a great little FAQ about commonly asked issues from non tailors who invade visit our board. I thought it would be cool if we came up with a comprehensive document about common issues such as (in no particular order):
I found this loot, what do I do with it?
How do I find a tailor?
What is the best way to get in a special order?
What's with this bioengineer dealie?
What clothes can I get bioengineer thingys in?
Why are some BE clothes more expensive than others?
What is the etiquette involved?
What shoudl I expect to pay?
Why can't I have red boots and dusters?
What clothes can I wear under armor?
I want 4 sockets. Make it so!
How many garments can I wear to get the most out of my preciouss skill tapes?
INSERT MORE QUESTIONS! This is not an exhaustive list.
Anyway... I'm sorta studying for the bar, and I reaaaally shouldn't procrastinate by writing this entire thing myself... so maybe you can help? Pretty please?

This is a great idea! Here's the question I would propose:
"What's that shirt called? You know, the one that has those things on it?"
An entire section can be devoted to educating the customer on how to properly ask for items by name. When I have a vaguely worded request, I refer the client to one of the catalog websites and ask them to get back to me when they have the name of the item they want. My favorite clients will email me with: white revealing top, pink and white pleated skirt, etc.
Also, perhaps there can be a section that addresses the "I want to look like [fill-in the blank]" inquiries. I don't get too many requests for costumes from the films, but I do get some "I want sexy," "I want a teras kasi outfit," and such. Include links to sites such as Sheylara's or Pani Lightstrider's (the two I use/refer to the most). Sort of a 'help me to help you' section?

How about...
Why don't my black (or insert other color here) boots match my black (oioch) pants and my black (oioch) shirt and my black (oioch) cloak?
I find that I'm tired of explaining over and over again that the same palettes are not used for every item. There's one for leather, one for metallics, one for regular clothing, etc....

This one kind of goes along with what clothes can be worn under armor but doesn't involve armor.
What garments can be worn with others? Example: "You can wear a vestover a body suit, but not a shirt."

Hmm, what questions are asked so often that I wish I could say RTFFAQ?
note: actually many of these are from tailors, but oh well
from non-tailors:
"price check on a crate of synthetic cloth" how much money you got?
"price check on a gazillion crates of trim" yea right, like I'm gonna run my factory night and day for you and watch you charge 250k/crate for your brandy *gets out stick*
"what is crystaline clothing treatment/heavy leather/heavy clamps used for?" see below
"price check on cct/hl/hdc" it's worthless... completely worthless... but luckily I can dispose of it for you
"I've got this GREAT new idea for having non-tailorscolor their ownclothing, and it'll make tailors MILLION$$ would you like to hear all about it?" no, go away, we hate you
"can I get a pair of boots with +5, no wait, +15 pistol speed and +25 dodge"?
"how can I get skill tapes? Do tailors make them?"
"I need a shirt with the 'medical use' bonus in it, can I get one from you?"
"If I don't have any mask scent skill, will an item with mask scent bonus on it give me this ability?"
"what do the 'ch' bonus clothing do? Does it let me call a higher level pet?"
"is there a cap on the amount of bonuses you can have? Is having a +100 medical ensamble worthwhile?" uh... SURE it does.
"how many pieces of clothing can I as a (insert race and gender) wear?
"what pieces of clothing are race/gender restricted?"
"what can I wear under my l33t 80% composite and how many mods can I get on it?"
"how come I can't equip my bandolier?"
"what's the deal with cargo pockets?"
"what is the 'max bonus' that I can get on this piece of clothing?"
"I've got this 'Men In Black' thang goin on and I need a bitchin pair of shades, how do I get a pair?"
from tailors:
"I've read the FAQ, and my grind is going SO SLOW, I've been grinding for hours and I'm not a master tailor yet /cry, isn't there a faster why of grinding?" yea, we like to BS n00bs, so we deliberately posted wrong info in the FAQ. There's really a much better way but you gotta give us the super-secret tailor handshake first.
"help, I just ground to master tailor and I've never sold anything before and Ihave no idea how to price clothing"
"how come I'm getting no experience points from the clothing I'm making?" the devs hate you, learn to live with it
"help! I'm only seeing a small number of clothing choices when I use my crafting tool, where did all the others go?"
"do I need a clothing factory? if so, how do I work it?"
"how do I make my customer look like that guy in the movie?"
"how do I get cct/hdl/hdc?"
"how do I get a specific type (e.g. medical) crafting apron instead of this crappy tailor one?"
"how do sockets work?" <- hahaha, just a little humor here

Ya know.... all these questions are great... but I need answers for them too. (And not smarta** ones either, though I am really tempted.)
Yeah, I think most of the "tailor asked questions" from arthur are in the FAQ or linked to an swgtailor article - except maybe a "how to" on factories, which should probably be added.

I found this loot, what do I do with it?
The only loot that tailors can use are heavy duty leather, heavy duty clasps, and crystalline clothing treatment. They are used for the limited use schematics of the themeparks. Most of them sell at 6k on bazaar nowadays.
How do I find a tailor?
You can either do a search in your area, or consult the planetary map (ctrl+v) to find the different tailor shops on your planet.
What is the best way to get in a special order?
Send an email. If you don't have a reply in the next couple days, it is prolly better to find another tailor.
What's with this bioengineer dealie?
Tailors can make a very limited range of clothes with modifiers on them : injury/wound treatment, cover, bleed resistance, melee defense/defense stun, mask scent/camouflage, taming bonus, intimidate/warcry, wound healing music/dance The max you can get is 25, unfortunately theselection of items is pretty limited, as only the med/entertainment/taming bonus can reach it. Also, casual clothes only take those mods as well. The best is to check online websites to see what is doable or ask your favorite tailor. Boots, belts and gloves can not have any BE enhancements.
Why are some BE clothes more expensive than others?
Some clothes take several identical tissues for the same result. As such, they are more expensive.
Why can't I have red boots and dusters?
Clothes have different color palettes, and some of them are still pretty limited.
What clothes can I wear under armor?
Shirts, and bandoliers. But you can't wear bandoliers with a backpack.
I want 4 sockets. Make it so!
Recently, the way sockets work has changed for tailors. As a result only about 15% of the items we make have 4 sockets, and we have no control over it. Also, remember that the max mods per item is 6, so that on some BE clothes anything above 2 sockets is useless.
How many garments can I wear to get the most out of my preciouss skill tapes?
Belt, shirt, hat, pants, jacket/vest, shoes, bandolier (not wearable with a backpack), gloves. 8.
Just a few attempts at some answers. I'll try to think of more questions later.

Nice post Arthur lol, actually I've heard lots of them unfortunately.
I'll answer a few of them too...
Is there a cap on the amount of bonuses you can have? Is having a +100 medical ensamble worthwhile?
No. The cap on any mods is 25, even if the interface shows more.
What's the deal with cargo pockets?
There are two kinds of cargo pockets. Some are loot drops, some are made by tailors. The ones tailors make are not containers, and are only components for bandoliers.
Of course we could repeat the 300 questions about BE clothes and answer to each of them seperately lol.

Change answer to:
The best item to grind is Fiberplast Pannels. No, not RFP, just Fiberplast Pannels. And don't use practice mode.
I hate holo-grinders. I'm glad they'll be gone tomorow ![]()
