I thought I would share with you all what happened to me tonight and I am sorry if this gets a little long winded, its late, my brain is mush, and ..... oh nevermind, just read on 
I was searching the galaxy high and low for some BE Tissues for a few orders I needed to fill. While I was in Cornet, I receive a tell:
Guy: "Hi, I need some clothes, can you help me?"
I'm thinking, I really don't have time for this, but what the hey, I just missed the shuttle, so
Me: "Sure, what kind of clothes would you like?"
Guy: "I want to look cool, something different than everyone else. My brother has this Neo outfit thats really cool and thats what I want except with +weapons on it and a hood"
I start banging my head on the desk, thinking how original you noob 
But seeing how its late Friday night, my brain is mush from a long week, I plunge ahead and tell him that what he is looking for in a hood is not possible and +weapons are SEA's and we don't make those, just clothes with sockets which are very random.
Several minutes pass with no answer, and I think "Ok, he's gone elsewhere. Good" Just as the shuttle lands, he sends another tell:
Guy: "Sorry, LD there. Well if you could make me some clothes in black, purple, and blue, and make me look cool and different, then you will be my new premier tailor. I will pay really well!"
Me: "Ok, give me about 20mins, then come to my shop"
I email him the waypoint and head to my shop. I proceed to make up a couple of the standard "Neo" outfits in his color choices, then on a whim, I decide to make something that I think is a little more unique and daring. So I put together a Gunmans, thin pleated skirt, hq boots, gloves, deco belt, side button shirt. I do this in a couple different colors of black, blue, and purple.
He shows up at the shop just as I finish setting up displays of the stuff to look at. He goes crazy over the stuff I designed! Absolutely loves it. Buys all the sets plus a few other things.
Guy: "How much?"
Me: "5k per set"
Guy: "What! No way!"
I groan and start beating my head on the desk again 
ok this guy is going to try to haggle me down. The next thing I know, i have an email for a bank tip of 35k!!! I was floored 
He then tells me what an awesome Tailor I am and then tells me that his guild has been looking for a tailor and he will have all them come to me from now on. Then for the next several minutes tries on all the diffent clothes and cheers at me! 
ok this guy is going to try to haggle me down. The next thing I know, i have an email for a bank tip of 35k!!! Morale: You may think that you are getting another l33t doodz dork, but they just may very well be a very good customer!

Thank you for sharing! As we've all had our fair share of unfortunately experiences, it's always nice when someone truly unique from the restcrossesour path.

i think it sucks that girls get hoods (the healers dress) and guys dont, well, take that back we get hoods ( cloaks) BUT THEY DONT RAISE UP! whats up with that!!! we need hoods bad!

Just had my first awesome experience like this too! I've had some really great custom order folks, but this one last night was just sooo simular to your story i had to post it, it started like this:
Trando: "Hey there"
Me: "Hello"
Trando: "How are you?"
Me: "Fine, and you?"
Trando: "Not bad."
about a five min pause,
Me: "Not to be rude, but I'm in the middle of hunting for hides and don't recognize your name, do i know you?"
Trando: "Don't know. You are on my buddy list, do I know you?"
Me: "hehe, well, not that i know of, I'm a tailor, maybe you bought something from me in the past."
Trando: "Maybe, just can't seem to remember and was hoping you did! 
"
"Me: "Sorry I couldn't help ya, but the name doesn't ring any bells, but anyway, it was nice to met you, eer, again, lol"
Trando: "hehe"
about a 10 min pause
Trando: "actually, i do need a ring if you don't mind"
Me: "Sure, would you like a signet ring or a metal band?"
Trando: "Ugg, signet rings are ugly, how about a metal band?"
Me: "Sure thing, just need to go home to my crafting station and I'll meet you, where are you? What color would you like the ring, Gold, Silver, or Copper? And btw, it's 8k."
Trando: "Cool, take your time, i'm in Kaadara, and gold please."
Me: "Ok"
As i'm heading home...
Trando: "Actually, i need some cool clothes too if you have the time."
Me: "no problem, what are you thinking you would like" (cringing at the word cool)
Trand: "Well, i have this outfit on another character that i really like"
Me: "Sure, what is it made of"
Trando: "It's a white Reinforced Workshirt, White Dress uniform jacket w/ black chest piece and trim, black reinforced pants w/ white trim color. Can i also have a Black decorative vest w/ white trim and black slacks?"
Me: "Wow, that's an interesting combo, sure thing. For the slacks, are you wanting to the actual pants called Slacks, they are the ones w/ the lil bubble things on the side?"
Trando: "Ugg, no, those are horrible, what other pants are there?"
Me: (cringing, knowing here comes the, sure make everything and i'll pick one part) "Well, the best ones for what you are asking for would be the Stripped Slacks in all black, or the Comfy Slacks. Comfy slackes have a nice belt w/ them, but the black is kinda light, stripped slacks don't have a belt, but the black will match the dec vest."
Trando: "Ok, that sound good, give me the stripped ones."
Me: thinking, hmm, this is too easy, better do a quick price check
Me: "Ok, almost done," Lie, haven't started yet, "The total for all this is gonna be 28k, ok?"
Trando: "Ok, actually, i was thinking, the reinforced outfit, could you do a second one in opposite colors too?"
Me: "Ok, sure can, just take a few more mins, that will bring the total to 40k."
Trando: "Great, i'll be here in Kaadara waiting."
i make the outfits, get to kaadara, find the customer, get ready to trade...
Trando: "Hold on, let my bank tip you first."
bank transfer takes place, i verify the money has landed, trade occurs...
Me: "Ok, try them on and make sure it's what you were looking for."
Trando fashion show insues, he cheers w/ each outfit
I cheer w/ each outfit
He bows and smiles
I thank/smile
I get an email notification of a 20k transfer from him
Trando: "here's a lil tip, these are great, you're the best tailor ever!"
Me: /blush "thank you very much, here's a wp to my shops if you need any off the rack clothes, please feel free to send me a tell if you need any other custom stuff."
Trando: "I will! Have a great day"
Me: "You too."
I head out, happy as a clam, only spent 30 mins on this custom order, much less than most others, having a customer know what they want and in the colors they want is just soo great and i really wasn't expecting that tip, what a nice suprise!

Well, this must have been "Be Nice to Your Local Tailor Weekend". I had a flood of tells and emails when I logged in yesterday, sold about 150k of clothes in couple hours (my sewing fingers are worked to the bone now, thinking I need a vacation on Naboo 
), and had each customer know exactly what they wanted, what colors, and each tipped me at least 10k-20k more than what I asked for in price, plus turn right around and buy several more items off my vendor.
Now if I can find a BE that sells tailor tissues so I can fill the rest of my orders I got yesterday, I will be one overjoyous little tailor.

Hehe, yep, they do! I charge 5k for the signet ring (which i really don't like) and have sold several of those. I don't really keep them stocked on my vendors, i sell them mostly in custom orders and ususally end up selling a pair of them as wedding bands, so mostly i get 16k for two of them, this was the first time i've sold a single one.

I'm just... really blown away by that, LOL... I charge 1k for them. *shrug* I charge by resources used, and metal bands use 75 units of various resources... even at charging 1k, I'm still charging 13.3 credits per resource. That just seems a little excessive to me. Then again, if people pay it, more power to ya.

Hrm... was looking at the wrong schematic... metal bands take 120 units, not 75. But still not a whole lot. Anyway, feel free to ignore me now. /slap self

Must be rutting season....I sold 5 pairs of rings last week. One was an "emergency set" whatever the heck that means.

June weddings are very popular. Who knows why. You think this might have also something to do with the rash of guys coming to me to buy "make me look cool in orange/black" run I have had lately?
