This Months Review
I felt really let down as a tailor this month, what should have been two exciting events the fan fest and the 1st year of SWG did not so much pass without notice for tailors but it was a slap in the face. I was really upset with the SOE attitude towards the professions including the tailor issues. How in the world they could say the necklace bug was unimportant with a round of laughs and jokes, they did not even throw as as much as a bone of anything to look forward to.
In fact I start to feel like the role of a tailor along with other crafting professions is beening treated very unfairly. Jedi are given their own clothes so dont need us, its hard to see what role if any we will have in jump to light speed, and more and more items are popping up as loot. Why , why sony dont make these items as scheme so they at least give the crafting folks something to do is beyond me. Its not so much what they are doing its what they could be doing. How much effort would it have been to give us easter hats, or a summer dress or something just once ?
As for business its been another good month, it struck me as odd that I was doing so well. Its clear to me the population on the server is getting smaller as half the houses around my shop have disappeared. In fact players numbers are as low as I have seen them in a while but as its summer I guess its no real shock. Sadly I found the reason why I am doing so well is due to a number of tailors giving up the profession, I think the fan fest had its effect but who can really say.
One thing I have noticed from customers this month that people are buying more items in one go, I think this has been due to the fact I tried to expanded the choice of clothes on offer. Of course it takes much longer to stock and keep control of the items but I found it helps the customer find what they need. Like boots I used to stock 3-4 types in a few popular colours but this month I made all the different types in a number of clothes. Of course I sell 5 times as many say black boots than pink ones but its worth making. The only downside is the 30 days I end up with 100 items a week I have to restock now which is a pain. It is interesting to note that Cloth sales shot up this month I suspect many tailors and going armoursmith its where the money appears to be these days.

*This is not profit it is just sales it does not include the cost of raw materials, vendor costs, and shop rent.
** I know only 30 days in June but its impossible to stop my accounts program dead on the wire so some times are sold on June 31st and some today July 1st. As these will balance out taken from last month and next month they effect is next to nothing. In total I think is only accounts to 12 items about 15,000 credits.
If you have any business questions or want to know more about the accounts or shop just ask

Congratz on a good month, i'm in the middle of doing my end of the month totals as well, it was another great month for me as well. As for the custom order question, i don't keep track of them, only do a couple a month.

Here is my month's totals for comparison. Since I am also Master Architech, these numbers are just for tailoring, but I will pull out just the totals for tailor too.

Store Manager 17191,810
A'Srai's BE Fashions 16 61,800
A'Srai's Military Wear 83 129,680
Now I don't track costs (and I should really) since all my materials are mined myself, and all other goods (hides, etc.) come from my friend Thrakar.
As I said in my earlier post, my tailoring business has just started taking off (while it seems at the same time my Architech business is dying on the vine save for few furniture sales here and there). I also have been doing a fair amount of custom orders, some go on my Store Manager, others are traded with the customer and don't get recorded.
Lets all hopeour businesses do as well in July as they have in June

Good to see that your business is doing well. I don't remember your exact numbers from last month, but it seems that you had quite a good growth for the month.
When I get home tonite, I am going to run my own totals, but I know I can attest that the latter half of June was a booming business. As word has gotten out about me over the last couple weeks, I have seen sales go from a few items a day, to selling about 20-30 items a day now.
Thank you again for sharing your numbers with us. I always look forward to your reports

A quick question (slaps forehead for thinking of this after hitting submit
).
How do you all treat custom orders when it comes to paying? For instance, Joe Zaibrak walks into my shop, asks me to make him some clothes, I craft up the order, then do a trade. But merchant's friend doesn't catch that sale. Do you all put everything on the vendors, then make them sort through pages upon pages to find their items, or just keep a little note somewhere on the sale and add that to the figures?
Thanks
