Very stupid question this but what clothes should i put on my vendors? i have tried, with limited success to do some market research by shouting out in coro, bestine and theed that il make all non-bio'd clothes for tips. appart from the flavour of the month two tone skirt and decorative jacket combo there hasnt been much other requests. so can anyone help me with some advice about what to stock my vendor with?
yours ever so slightly ashamed that i had to post this thread

that's a hard one for any tailor, region, server, time of yr, it all affects what actually sells.
apart from shouting in Cor, examine people what are they wearing.
visit other tailors shops, there is nothing wrong seeing what others offer and what they have for prices.
stock it all for 1 month or 2 then adjust accordingly
just do it, pick stuff make it set it up, they oddest items and oddest colors are sometimes bought up faster then normal items
(I think mainly because they are not common, finding options to everyday looks is sometimes a great deal)
I try and keep at least 4 of everything up for sell, colors all over the place.
(have been dorking lately so I have stuff sitting in bag to be stocked, bad me)

I wondered myself, when I asked the guild what profession I should take up and they said "tailor", what I should make.
Then I thought about my frustraion at trying to find something for men to wear that wasn't orange and/or revealing. I made a vendor named "Clothing for Men" and I did brisk business.. all blacks, browns, greens in military styles. I did very brisk business until I started getting into JTL and scaled things back.
When you are checking what's out there, I think you'll see what I mean.

Also try placing stuff up on the bazaar. You'll learn really fast what people are looking for and what they just wont buy.

This Week my biggeset sellers have been Small Bustiers and Sports Bustiers, aswell as Extreamly Revealing skirt, Pleated Skirt, Fashionably Pleated Skirt. Each sold around 10 items.
4 socket black formfitting undershirts, and 4 socket black camo's each with +4/+18 melee mods are also top sellers.
But it all depends on server also. Ive sold about5 pairs of hotpants this month for example, compared to how many bustiers and skirts i sell that is very very few, on other servers they are quite popular however.
Also just try to put yourself in a buyers shoes. For me it was easy as i was master dancer before becoming tailor, and i had my regular tailor who was an inspiration to me really. When i started my own tailor shop, i just remembered back to how i was, what i looked for in a tailor shop.
And that was, Everything, to have the biggest 'choice' possible, most people dont come to shop for something specific, they come to browse and see if there is anything they fancy, more choice is more sales, and more happy customers
