I have 2 of them.
Go buy JTL if you have not done so. Become a freelance pilot, and on your 2nd mission you'll get one.
Quit pilot and repeat

I seem to remember something a few publishes ago about bandoliers that can hold items. Did these ever go live? Are they a regular tailor item or something special?

Yeah, you have to be a freelance pilot to get or wear one. They're not crafted. :/

Wookies get them if they go rebel pilot, instead fo the flightsuit. Not sure about if they go imp.

Imps get a TIE flightsuit, non-wookes Rebs get a flight suit that can be crafted by tailors.
Rebs get hosed here.

I'm a sullastan corsec freelance pilot and I got a bandolier and not a flightsuit. Unfortunately I was an idiot and sold the bandolier when I bought a bounty hunter backpack, thinking I could get another one later on. I guess there must be some on the bazaar.. I guess I just look for one with no creator.
