When exactly do tailors get new color schematics? Working hard towards Novice Tailor but these colors truly do suck after so many...LOL

You get a decent red/magenta (IMO) when you finally make it to Tailoring III.....happy grinding.

I have another question about colors. How do you other, more experienced tailors get the color you want? The limit on colors is one thing, but I have a hell of a time even getting the right color out of my limited selection. I'm at Dom4, almost to Novice Tailor, and I still haven't figure it out.

1. Different pieces of clothing seem to have a different layout for the color selection. On some clothes it's a straight grid. On others it's this weird diagonal layout. So if I try to match up colors I can never look to the same area of the selection screen, I have to guess.

2. The color output doesn't seem to match what I select. I pick something that looks almost black and I get a medium grey (someone said they make all jet black stuff - how? I don't have that color on my list). I made some boots in a dark reddish-brown and they came out straight brown.

3. When I pick a blueish color, it tints the model on the right a pink or green color. On my color selection I have what appear to be four different lines of blue shades, but one is blue, one is green, one grey, and one pink. Is this the same for everyone?

Thanks for any input.

Hmm... normally the color selection matches up with the clothing colors, but I've seen a few problems. I don't exactly remember which items are bugged, but the majority of them seem to be Wookiee clothing. The color selectionson mostWookiee items look nothing like the colors that show up on the clothes. It's very annoying, but there's a tedious workaround you can do.Ijustclick and drag my cursor over every color on the bar until the color in the preview matches the one that my customer wants. I sure hope it's fixed soon.

Ive only noticed mismatches between my selection and the outcome on wookie clothing. A lot of them seem to be missing entirely. Some things, like jewelry, the colours come out much darker than other on a shirt, but still the right colour. Anybody claiming to have 'black' stuff is either much higher up Tailoring experimentation than I am, or thinks that the very dark green you get in artisan is black. It does look black most of the time, but get some good lighting and you can see that it isnt.

The wookie colors seem to be bugged for me. I mean, we're talking click on yellow, get blue. I /bug'd it. Hopefully it'll get fixed soon, but I'm sure there are more pressing concerns (like getting my server back up atm)

I hate how my colors for gloves are different then my colors for clothes. I make a nice color dress but it's impossible to get a matching color. Yellow jumps immediately to mind.

They need to add a popup describing the color as you select it...that way even if your clicking something that look brown it will tell you its brown and not hot pink....

I've noticed there aresubtle differences in the colors on the palette and the color of the end products. But the only way you can select color is by looking at the tiny box on the palette and hope its what you think it is...usually close enough but still its annoying.

Well the color that I sometimes call "black" appears black on some items and a dark grey on others. Each item "takes" the color differently. I'm assuming this was done to give the feel of different materials and textures.

The quality and settings of your monitor also matter in regard to the color. Some folks say that the dark gray/black color never looks black to them on any items. But on my screen at least half of the items (maybe more) appear dark enough that I consider them black. I had a customer in beta yell at me because the "black" shirt I crafted appeared grey to him. Several passers by said it looked black to them, and someone suggested that he turn down the brightness on his monitor. Once he did that, he confirmed that it did actually look black.

A correction to my statement also - some leather things, such as gloves, do appear to have a proper black.

On most items there is a fairly dark grey, and a green which is darker and may look black without good lighting.

And yes, different things 'take' to the colors in different ways.
