What would be a fair cash price for a manufacturing schematic for reinforced fiber panels?

I'd never sell the schematic.

There are a few reasons, one being that it takes the power out of your hands as to reinforced panels. arguably our most bread and butter item for credits. The other being that what you make the schematic from has to be inserted into the factory to use. You might gain a bad name if you use just what you have and it doesnt appear as a resource any more. third, I don't think you even CAN sell a schematic.

You can sell schematics in the bazaar, but no one knows to look for them I think.

For reinforced fiberplast panel schematics I've always asked for a 50 credit royalty. I explain to them that schematics can be used to make between 1 and 100 copies of an item and that I ask for 50 credits per copy they want to make. So if they want a schematic for 100 panels, it would cost them 5000 credits. They normally either a) say something rude, b) laugh, or in the rarest case, c) just turn me down politely.

They always argue that it costs me next to nothing to make the schematic. That's true, but what they don't understand is that it takes time and effort to get to the point where those schmatics are available to make. And it just frustrates me that they can be be so frugal with components when the armor itself easily sells for thousands of credits a piece.

Wow, what's up with the people your talking to? I've sold a couple of reinforced fiber schematicsfor 5,000 a pop and the armorsmiths don't even bat an eye. Why would they when they can go sell a full suit for 35K?

I feel that 50 credits per schematic use is very reasonable, but I think that the armorcrafters on Starsider have been spoiled by other tailors. In the past few days I'veseen people undercut me and charge as little as 750 and 1000 credits per schematic. Come to think of it, I wonder what armorcrafters would think if I asked them to make armor schematics for me at just 2x-3x the cost of the armor piece...

So far dusters and bounty hunter packs are my only money makers. Spec-op packs would be nice too, but none of the 6 planets I've visited have any sort of titanium aluminum yet.

Lucky bum. Corbantis does not have the metal for either bounty hunter packs and special ops packs.

Some of the undercutting I've seen is just plain crazy. I'm talking prices that probably don't even cover materials.

I'm an armorsmith/tailor, I don't have field wear two but someone I know is about to hit it today, I told them that I am going to want a reinforced fiber schematic.. I'd be providing the materials to make the schematic from and that I would pay 40k for a 1000 run schematic... (anyone saying but they only go up to 100... try adding a zero at the end, the slider is 1-100 but you can do up to 1000)... The tailor in question was thrilled at this idea... sure it means he won't get the xp for them but I've promised I won't be reselling these panels, they are for personal use and this is basically 40k profit for "no work".. yeah it was a lot of work for him to get to that point but I can't be running to him every time I need more panels. And it won't detract from the demand he's having for them to be made in any discernable way... I think anywhere from 25-50 credits per use of said schematic is fine.. but they really should bring you the supplies themselves to make it.
