Thread: What would be a fair price to charge for enhanced clothing?
Asofthe recent patchI know that the tailor profession is going to be really be affected by the
"I want enhanced clothing" requests. What do you think would be a fair price per component added?
This is a very hard question to answer, as there are really3 things that need to be taken into account:
1) Is this a tier 1 or tier 2 BE Tissue they want? Nearly all of the BE tissues have one lower end tissue that produces a specific effect, and then higher up they have a more powerful tissue for the very same effect. For example, there is "Myoflex Cloth" which can add UP TO 6 or 7 points of entertainer healing and entertainer wound healing. There's also "Enhanced Myoflex Cloth" which is a whole lot harder to make, but can add up to 11-12 points of the same thing.
2) Does the article of clothing require IDENTICAL RFPs or Synth Cloths? If so, you'll almost certainly only be using lower end tissues - higher end tissues have almost insane requirements to make, and the vast majority of them will not be factory producable, thus not resulting in identical compoments.
3) And here is the biggy. We (as bio-engineers) have arguably the most screwed up ingredients in the game. This is not a problem for the majority of the lower end tissues, hence they can generally be factory produced, but for the higher end tissues, most of them require one or more of the following:
a) Fish (can be gotten, just not in easily attainable quantities to make factory production worthwhile)
b) eggs (far harder to get but can still be gotten - Enhanced Myoflex Cloth, for example, requires 15 eggs, extremely hard to find a stack this large but again it is possible)
c) milk (may as well call it impossible - 1 or 2 units occasionally drop from Bounty Hunter missions on some servers!!)
d) mollusks (flat out doesn't exist.)
If the bonus they are interested in requires fish or eggs to pull off, it's going to be expensive, to say the least. If it requires factory produced quantities that use fish or eggs, it's going to be EXTREMELY expensive.
I for one will be helping my master tailor out with factory produced "low end" BE tissues for her higher end clothing, and then I will be producing high end BE tissues for her clothing schematics that do not require identical components.
As a baseline, I would guess an additional +400 or +500 cr per +1 point in the lower end tissues, and then +800 or so cr per +1 on the high end (very difficult) tissues, more if it requires eggs.
This is just a guess though, not sure what the market will support as of yet, but these tissues are very hard to produce.
My suggestion is don't even worry about fair for the first week. You can worry about setting the price to something stable in a week or so while rolling around in your credits =)
Thanks for all your info
One question I have for you. Have you tried factory producing the high end stuff today, since patch went into effect? I thought they were going to fix the tissues so they can be crated. Or, do they still have the high end tissues broken, so as they cannot be made into crates, but only single pieces. Also, on another note .. what would a fair price in your opinion be as to what tailors should pay for such crates in tiers 1 and 2.

No problem!
Let me back up one second though to my comments about the factory production. It's not a matter of it not working - supposedly (I'm at work at the moment), Bio-Engineering has been fixed in such a way that all of our tissues and pet stims work in factory mode.
So, to clarify, we CAN in theory make any of those things in a factory for your clothing schematics.
The problem becomes our INSANE ingredient requirements. Let's take an example as Enhanced Myoflex Cloth Treatment. That is the high end Entertainer bonus tissue, roughly +11 or +12 to entertainer wound healing and the like, good stuff. It also requires 15 eggs.
Let's say you get an order from a dancer who wants Bikini Leggings with this bonus on them. Those require 4 identical Synth Cloths I think. Since those have to match, that would require 4 identical Enhanced Myoflex tissues, which would be a total of 75 matching eggs (15 x 4 + 15 for the schematic). Eggs are almost impossible to find in this quantity. It IS possible, but would become extremely expensive, since that could also be used as 4 seperate items that do not require identical matching SC and sold as such.
Does that make a little more sense? ![]()
I don't want to think of a critical fail on those... LOL
I guess that the first thing I will do when I log on is /bug the lack of drops for BE tissues.
