Thread: Bio-eng
I was under the impression that if you use more then one of the same cloth the stats will stack. i.e. 4 identical cloths, each have +4 finished product = +16
Is this how it works? I have read somewhere that it doesn’t stack.
And if you use synthetic cloth with reinforced fiber panel, do their stats get combined or is one chosen over the other?
I am currently waiting on a bio-eng to make me tissues. And I did not want to test this out and waste them.
Thanx for any relevant info.
1) Right now, they do NOT stack, but they do on TC. On Live, at this time, if you put four identical +10 bleed defense tissues into one single finished article of clothing, you will end up with +10, not +40. It DOES stack on TC, however, though the hard cap for any one skill bonus is +25.
2) Certain tissues HAVE to go into Synthetic Cloth, and some HAVE to go into Reinforced Fiberplast Panels. No tissues can go in "either one", so there is no chance of them overwriting each other. However, you can combine the two. For instance, you might make one synth cloth with +15 injury/wound treatment bonus, and one RFP with +15 bleed defense, and put BOTH of them into a pair of Crafter's Pants (I think that's the one that takes both?), and both will show up and be used.
Hope this helps!

A small clarification - 4 identical panels going into one slot does not stack on Test Center. From what I've read here, that's intentional. If you put 2 panels into 2 separate slots, you would get twice the bonus, not four times.

Thats pure genious. So basically, unless you are making an article of clothing that has a single-slot for Synth Cloth or RFP its a gigantic waste of money to put 4 identical components with BE enhanced tissues into a piece of clothing.
Good Job!!! We're still restricted to making enhanced clothing from the bottom lines of our profession!!!
Just curious ,,but where did you get your information that there is a cap of 25 in any one skill,,,
and does it currently apply to live servers or just TC,,
and last,,even if you have factual information ,,how did you confirm that the cap wont go over 25,,
Just curious,,
Just curious ,,,when i read my skill for mask scent in my skill section it says 70,,with the two items of mask scent clothing equiped it says 70/1,, and ibelieve it would really be 104 ,,but wont display past 100,,,
Just curious what you see when you equip a +25 bonus.
Its going to be difficult to measure the bonus and how it really works for the various types of tissues and to reach a conclusion that there is a cap of 25 for all tissues seems somewhat assumptive,,,or that all tissue bonus works the same way,,

When wearing enhanced clothing a character may only increase a skill by 25 points at the most. No matter what, a skill will never exceed the 100 cap. If you have a 76 skill and put on an item with a +25 to that same skill, you are capped at 100.
As far as I know, your skills will show above the 25 skill cap, but it will not actually effect the wearer.
Confusing, I know, but once it makes sense, it actually becomes pretty clear.

Just curious ,,then how do you explain my skill stat going from 70 to 100 or 104 ( doesnt matter) both numbers are in excess of 25 ,,and
then if i dropped my skill down to 40 and equiped a +34 total ,,what do you think would display,,I think it would display 74 and the question is ,,and has been ,,who said the 25 cap exists and no matter who said it ,,does it apply to all tissues ,,or not? and how exactly do you know for sure what the cap is for all the different types of tissues and in todays swg ,,ie since the last patch,,when before the scent tissues werent available,,
And part of the reason I am confused is that you say the cap is 25 but offer no logical facts to support your statement except someone said they did a test using a different tissue ,,and likely before scent tissues were available,,,so whoreally knows?

Before the patch went live, I was dabbling in BE enhanced clothing. Splintt and I worked out several tests with several different people. For the record, before the patch most reinforced panel enhancements didn't work, i.e. you'd drop them in and they wouldn't show up so what testing we could do we did. I would dress up as many people in some shirt or pants or dress and put them to work. While they would show numbers reaching above the 25 mark on their skills, they never actually increased above the 25 mark.
I had to reread your original post and your latest reply before I think I understood what you were actually acting.
First, the way I understand it, you said that your skill only showed 100, but you think it should be 104. Evidence the 100 skill limit cap. It will not exceed the 100 mark. This is a number decided upon by the devs, not sure where I read it, either the manual or in one of the faqs here on this site.
Second, if you have 74, and add 25, you go up to 99. We have all said that you will show a number in your skills higher than the actual 25 cap, but it won't actually influence your characters enhancements.
Third, the 25 number wasn't something Tailors pulled out of our butts and said, "Hey this sounds good." It was a number that was found through both testing and information given to us by devs and Vandessa (it's a sad day for Tailors and happy day for Testers everywhere).
Fourth, a lot of us have done the research and posted our findings in this forum. However, these posts are approaching the 1-month mark and have been pushed back a few pages, if not more. You can do a search, or you can just skim through the pages, most of the BE threads are pretty well titled. I couldn't tell you the last 5 posts I posted in or which ones they were, but I can tell you that they are in this forum somewhere and will be dated either today (the 6th) or yesterday (the 5th). Start looking for threads in the Oct 4th to 15th range, my bet is that a lot of the info can be found there. If all else fails, look at the posts from Vandessa discussing the upcoming patch and what we were to look forward to when the 9th arrived.
Hope this answers your questions a bit more.
