Ok, last night I decided to grace the bazaar with some rugged jackets so I made 4 of them with various color combinations. Here were my results:

#1: 0 sockets

#2: 0 sockets

#3: 0 sockets

#4: 0 sockets

Sounds like my usual luck since they 'fixed' sockets.

I had the same problem with a bandolier lately. At first I thought maybe it was one of those rare items that don't get sockets (I hardly ever make bandoliers), but after about 5 times I finally got a few. I hope it is just bad luck and they aren't nerfing sockets further. I would really hate it if only Jedi tailors can get sockets in the furture.

I never got sockets on Rugged Jackets before the nerf. I think they're just bugged.

One thing I've noticed about sockets recently is that the first item I make after I log in seems to always have 4 sockets. Great for the clients that catch me just logged in asking for a 4 socketed BE item.

The socketting situation is an odd one though, from the items I make I seem to get far more 4 socket items that the stats suggested I would after the problem was first noticed. Like making a full 4 socket outfit for a wookie friend of mine, I only had to remake one item. I am over-maxed on clothing assembly but I didn't think that made a difference, then again tailors get more sockets as they rise through the skill tree so maybe assembly does influence it slightly?

Good luck!

I never understood why it doesn't have sockets.

The best thing about that order is that the email said

"A 4 socket grand ball gown (yes, I know that 4-sockets are random but please try)"

Uh... try? Do, or redo, there is no try!

Try lower % crafting tools... i know it sounds crazy but personally i've noticed that the lower the % of the tool i'm using the more often i get sockets, i could be and likely am wrong on this issue but its just something that seems to happen to me often.

and n'jessi, just charge her for each one that you make untill you get 4 sockets... should make people realize just how random they are lol

Except for in the case of the grand ball gown (which is what was ordered), sockets aren't random at all. Unless they fixed it recently, it *never* has sockets and hasn't since the game started.

A follow up to this...

I had a tailor make my non-tailor character a rugged jacket recently (I think they look cool), again, 0 sockets.

However... I just recently moved and was throwing hundreds of items of clothing and noticed some rugged jackets that I had made some time ago. They were socketed!

I suppose this is THE GREAT RUGGED JACKET SOCKET NERF OF '04

how wonderful

I just made one with 2 sockets, personally it's the ammo bandoliers I seem to get with no sockets half the time /sigh.

For the grand ball gown it just got skipped in the list when most no socket items got fixed (light bustier/doctor's dress) because nobody believed me when I said it didn't have sockets lol. Oh well... Maybe one day we will have it fixed.
