: Jedi robes? In movies, they often pull off their robes. Since our jedi can't wear armor, can they wear pants, boots, whatever, to keep from painting a target on themselves?

A: Jedi can't wear armor. When wearing armor, they can't use force powers or saber specials. We have a whole set of special jedi robes (full outfits: Boots, pants, belt, etc. not just 'robes'). There's ones that you can choose to wear at Padawan, and other special ones that go up the force ranks. The higher up the FRS you go, the more varied your robes can be. There will be very few people at this level, those guys are going to be really powerful. So, yeah, it's like painting a big target on their forehead, but they're going to have the power to back it up and that's their choice.
There's a disparity right now with Jedi not being able to wear armor, and everyone else who can, until the combat balance comes live. The robes will give more protections (not 90% composite, but) that allow you to go out and fight in the world. At the combat balance, this will change as everyone is brought to a level playing field. As well, Jedi now have much better force defenses, so completely naked cna do things other people can't in armor.

I know we all tend to go over board when we see a change that we think harms the profession, however what worries me most is the general direction of the game. With more and more jedi its less people needing clothes, but not just clothes armour and weapons to. The reason why SWG works is that we depend on other people to provide material for us to play the game. I make and sell clothes and with that money buy armour, weapons, houses, bikes etc.

The jedi system makes one character completely independant he does not require support from anyone it is going to be a big shift in game play when the jedi numbers rise. The point is tho their is no reason why it has to be this way, I dont see why jedi cant be given schemes for jedi clothes and they have to be made by tailors.

Its worth noting that its not just the robes jedi are given but also pants and boots.

So if your not happy with these changes I suggest you post here and we get our community rep to make an offical statement to Sony outlining our issues for the game.
