As tailors I believe we have been failing the players in our efforts to inspire people to buy clothes. We are quick to bemoan the common choice of black and white clothes requested but how much do we do to promote the range we have.

Even in my own shop where I display 50 odd outfits that I like to change at least one month I tend to stick to the colours and outfits that I believe will sell well.

So what more can we do ? Perhaps not much but one idea that is a bit of fun is to come up with are Offical Tailor Seasonal collections. The idea is each season as tailors we come up with an outfit each suitable for that season and as a group vote on which ones we would like to see in the collection.

Given the way the fashion world works our first collection should be a spring one and the clothes should be based on the spring theme. But you could work a way to include pretty much anything you want colour wise, but the more spring like the outfit is the better the chance of it being included.

To submit an idea for an outfit I suggest we list each item of clothing and the colour of the item. The outfit must include a short description of its theme and how it relates to the current season with of course your tailors name and shop. Of course it is not possible to post pictures here but links to pictures of your outfit are a great addition and would certainly increase you chance of being select.

Once we have the collection made I would like to hope tailors on all worlds could stock the items and have them on display . Of course a website for the collections would be the best way to show it off while I have some web skills and picture editing I am lacking in a server to host any such pages.

So before we start to come up with ideas for outfits I was wondering what you think of the idea ?

I do something similar though not quite so structured. I usually will do a post every few months about new outfits and combinations, whats hot and so on and post it on chilastra. Haven't done one for a while though.

I think you could loosen up some on the requirements a little bit to make it more fun.

Ok... Here's an idea... lete's start using SWGTailor.com (we'll have to ask Shirow to put the images on the server but hey...)

Each tailor who wants to participate email an image for the new "Spring Line", think of designs and color and make it as fun as you want, only requirement is that it can't be in black of white. Email me at [email protected] and I will put together a file (giving credit to each tailor for their creations and what server they are on) to put up on the site.

Will give us something to do while we look for the catalog that seemed to poof into the ether
