I'd like some kind of customizable catalog that we could use to show off some of our outfits, but I'm against an in-game reference showing every type of clothing and our whole color pallettes. Customers that are really that picky are more than willing to look at one of the many great tailoring websites.
The fun part of tailoring is working with customers and using our own experience to come up with great looking outfits. If they ever add something to the in-game UI that means that all of my customers will just come in and order outfits in the color that's fifth row, second column, it would take all the creativity out of tailoring. And considering that creativity is all that we really have as tailors, that would drive many of us right out of the profession.
I know it's frustrating for many tailors (especially newer ones) to try and describe our color and item selection. But with experience and good customer service skills, it gets much easier. And to most of those of us who really love tailoring, that puzzle of asking the right questions, really listening to the customer's answers, and nailing the outfit and colors on the first or second try is the most rewarding part of being a tailor.
As tailors, we are the fashion experts. We know all of our schematics, and what colors they can come in. So making any change to the game system that would easily show any customer our entire style and color selection would make our experience and our product knowledge almost worthless.
Any catalog type item they add should be more like an individual tailor's portfolio, that we use to display a few styles and color combinations we choose, not a comprehensive reference that would make an individual tailor's sense of style and experience irrelevant.
