Thread: need tailor and chef for business partner
I have built up a wookiee client base and am looking for someone to supply me with wookiee clothes. you make them, I sell them and tip you for half the sale. And No, i want sham you on your commission. All my previous partners have quit or i could give you references. While its true you make less profit by splitting with me, if history is any judge you will make it up in volume because when I am well stocked I sold a lot of wookiee clothes, sometimes 100k per day, tho that wasnt the norm.
email me in game
the same offer holds for chefs that want to sell Mind, Focus or Willpower related buffs. I sell some of my own, but I dont have the skillz for the leet stuff.
Good luck finding one dumb enough.

It's incredibly risky for a tailor to just give you a ton of stock and hope you'll tip them a little at a time when you get the money. Even if they were 100% sure that you weren't trying to scam them, it's still a silly deal from a tailor perspective. Wook clothes take a lot of hide, which can be very expensive to get. So where is the benefit for the tailor in using up that hide making things for you that they hope you'll be able to sell, when they could be using it to make things to put on their own vendors? The only real benefit this deal would have for them is if you buy the pieces up front.
Oh, and the best way to find someone to do business with on your server is actually to use your server's trade board...

For one thing, if you really want to buy and sell, just buy it up front from the tailor, and ask for a volume discount.
This is what I did when I was running a mall, and it worked very very well. I supplied the building, the vendors, dealt with all customers, tracked the sales, and did all the market research, and it was high volume since we were on the map and in one of the best locations you could possibly be in, in the game. For that, my suppliers filled myorders at around a 10% discount to their prices, and I marked it up an additional 10% or sofor a 20% profit. Money adds up very fast when doing that and of course you take advantage of the synergy between different product offerings. My suppliers seemed to really like this arrangement and it worked out great for me as well.
i really dont give a **edit** what your opinion is on my commission. while you have theories about what wont work, i had exactly this deal with 2 previous master tailors and we both made lots of money. I spend a lot more time developing a client base than what it took my tailor to make them and I charge higher than avg prices. since i sell bowcasters and do Image deisgn and sell rifleman buffs, i get a lot of wookiee business. at least i did before i quit the game for awhile.
so as not to confuse you what i asked for is someone that WANTS to do it, not someone that DOESNT.
it is ignorant for you to tell me what my margin is when you dont know what i charge. I saw wookiee stuff selling for 1/5 what i sold it for and im sure i sold more than they did cause i would see the same stuff on thier vendor that was there the week before.
btw, Nike doesnt make their own shoes and McDonalds does not own 1 single food processing plant, what they do is market and distribute. its the same concept so zip it. except they get probably an 80/20 split for themselves.

Zog,
Quit crying. If your business is so goodwhy do you need a post like this to get partners? You posted this on the tailor forum, so expect replies. And we're simply telling those tailors that might consider such a deal, that they can do a WHOLE lot better than this.
The least you can do is see the humor in your post and give it a new title: "greedy businessman seeks clueless chefs and tailors to take advantage of"
Oh, and McDonalds and Nike don't sell on consignment, rofl, get a clue.
And just curious...explain to us tailors what your "market research" consists of...
Thx

Let's start with your business model.... make the tailors create the stuff (so it's their name on it) but sell at outrageously inflated prices - you said a 500% markup compared to others. You don't care how unfair this is to your market or your supplier, and you want us to swallow it and say yum yum,, this is sooo good.
What the market will bear, and what is fair are 2 very different things. Bleed the market hard, and you hurt everyone else. Eventually it rebounds. The player economy has certain limitations that are based on customer ability to compare. If you have a monopoly (by appearance or fact) then you can charge any price you want. But it's still a monopoly and unethical business practice.
You clearly state though, that you don't care. You only want the money. I find you a horrible example of some of the players I have seen. I imagine that the tailors and chefs that you take advantage of realized how poor your system was and quit to escape your contract.
Sorry. MacDonalds OWNS cattle ranches around the globe. They are one of the prime causes of deforestation in the amazon due to overfarming of pasture lands needed for their beef. Why would they have another company be their supplier? It means they are beholden to them for ALL their beef. The term All-Beef is the company name that supplies them with their patties. (It does not imply that it actually is all beef, anyone that believes that has never made a hamburger themselves!!!)
Nike DOES make their own shoes. They just find a place they can set up cheap labour costs and plant a factory there. That factory does not pick and choose who they make shoes for.
