Hello,
I would like to ask you what you got in your backpack, when leaving home for some "streetwork" ...
I try to avoid wearing a backpack most of the time, as it messes up most outfits and/or dresses, so I set my limit to 100 items in maximum (60 as personal storage plus 4 droids with installed storage modules).
Here is my setup:
Items stored in the inventory (26):
* 1 Backpack
* 2 Clothing and Armor Crafting Tool
* 1 Weapon, Doid and General Item Crafting Tool
* 7 Survey Tools (one of each)
* 1 medium Mineral Harvester
* 1 medium Chemical Extractor
* 1 Fusion Power Generator
* 1 Fiberplast Panels
* 1 Reinforced Fiberplast Panels
* 1 Synthetic Cloth
* 1 Trim
* 1 Metal Fasteners
* 1 Jewelry Settings
* Fiberplast
* Polymer
* Steel
* Copper
* Any Hide
* Wooly Hide
Leaves room for additional items (weapon/armor/loot) or for a complete set of cloth for your customer and enables you to survey for ressources while traveling. When I see some harvesters, I do a quick survey and place my harvester accordingly. Got most of my ressources whith this method.
Robots (5):
* 1 Robot (Astromech) with private Crafting Station Capabilities for Clothing
* 4 Robots (Mice) with Storage Modules
Items stored in the bots:
Items in Factory Crates (23):
* 4 Fiberplast Panels
* 2 Reinforced Fiberplast Panels
* 6 Synthetic Cloth
* 4 Trim
* 4 Metal Fasteners
* 3 Jewelry Settings
General materials (11):
* Fiberplast
* Polymer
* Steel
* Copper
* Amorphous Gemstone
* Crystalline Gemstone
* Wooly Hides
* Bristley Hides
* Any Hides
* Iron (in small amounts)
* Ore (in small amounts)
Specific materials (in small amounts) (6):
* Plexite Amorphous Gemstone
* Green Diamond Crystalline Gemstone
* Thoranium Steel
* Titanium Aluminum
* Tatooine Wooly Hide
* Nabooan Scaley Hide
These are all the items necessary for us tailors, all standard cloth may be made of ressources I got in my backpack, the more exotic ones will require the call of one of your bots.

Pretty much what I carry around with me, minus the harvestors and survey tools. I store a set of each type of BE tissues as well in my droid. The more exotic materials I also leave at home. Its pretty rare that I will have someone stop me on the street and ask for a Noble's Crest or something along those lines. In the very rare instance that they do, they can follow me back to my shop, or wait for a few minutes while I run and get it. I very rarely leave the area of my shop, so its usually not a big deal. I have been wanting to get a few more droids for storage, but haven't really gotten around to buying them yet. Guess I better do that tonite before all the DE's are swamped making stuff for JTL

I don't carry harvester stuff, and I don't carry BE stuff. Anyone who wants BE orders comes to my house. I have to have room for my musical instruments

I, for one, take the lazy approach and cram whatever I can into a bounty hunter pack. Usually, it contains one crate of each tailor component and a little of each "essential" resource. However, I always manage to neglect one particular item needed to complete an order on the go so then I proceed to forward my vendor waypoint to the customer.

i am so disorganized....i have a bunch of everything...but i am always missing something it seems...i really should get more droids for storage...esp the BE tissues...how many droids can a person own??????

I have about 30-40 crates of BE stuff on me wherever I go. I have no less than 20 crates of Synth, Metal fasteners, Jewelry settings, etc... I keep all the components for every item craftable by tailors, including the Crystal Clothing Treatment, Heavy Duty Leather/Clasps, Rori Fungus, etc.
I waddle, I don't glide, like my character appears to do most often. My 5 droids all have 10 item storage, as well as private crafting stations and other modules like the entertainer mods... Inside are crates of emergency clothes. I have (Black) Lined Workshirts (+4 Melee/+17 Stun) 4 Socket, (Red/White)Flexform Shirts (+17 Medical) 4 Socket, Black Tipless Gloves - 4 Socket, Black Decorative Belt - 4 Socket, (Red/Gold) Extremely Revealing Skirt (+16 Entertainer) 4 Socket.... and alot more like that
I usually have about 5 - 10 free inventory slots and a full pack, and 5 full droids (5 is the maximum you can have.) Some of the droids have my own wardrobe in them.

My tailor toon has equipped backpack with CRATES and CRATES of components. Tools and resources in main inventory. Have 5 storage droids with BE stuff and more components hehe.

My tailor has a pack equipped at almost all times. I have MANY crates of all componenets, plus just about every resource needed and BE components as well. I carry 5 crafting tools, a droid with a crafting station and storage, plus another droid that is just storage. I love custom orders, so am always prepared to craft on the go

Great list 
I dont craft outside for individuals, sadly if I have to carry architect stuff too, list grows on, but all items are pretty needed at any time, you never know

Well, in my pack you'd find:
My inventory will have a Laser Carbine (usually equipped) and my outfit (worn). From there, it depends on what I'm doing. I have Satchels with more tools, more combat items, deeds, and so on that I swap out. The Tools one (the rest of the survey tools, 3 more clothing tools, one more generic tool) rarely leaves my inventory.
I have 5 droids of various types: 2 R2s (Thimble and Spackle), MSE (Noisy), Treadwell (Scissors), and a 3P0 (Stupid). Each of them has a Clothing Crafting Station and 10 item storage, except for Stupid who is really old and only has 6 item storage. (They were all made a loooooooong time ago, back before droids could have multiple crafting modules. I should get some updated ones with extra crafting station types and one with Pilot stuff. They store extra normal crates and some BE crates.
- Every kind of resource needed for basic Tailoring. I don't carry around BE mods or the loot schematic stuff, but I will have Green Diamond and Plexite, various hides, etc. I keep a satchel in my pack for rarely used resources, so I don't use them accidentally.
- A crate of each Tailor component (except Armor Padding).
- A crate of each Tailor backpack. (I drop these off on the Bazaars when I go by.)
- A crate or two of my "I did the Crafting Quest and all I got was this lousy T-Shirt." shirts. (More Bazaar bait.)
- Some resources for other things, like treats for my Bantha.
- Basic Tools: one each of Mineral and Chemical Survey, Clothing and General Crafting.
