Do you charge for the number of sockets ?
I don't. I sell the same item of clothing with no sockets fo rhe same price as one with 4 sockets. A lot of my buisness is done by orders and through me being stopped while out and about. I don't feel I should charge more if I craft someone something and it happens to end up with 4 sockets in it. A lot of players have told me to charge more for the sockets. Also the good players seem to tip quite a bit more once they see the item has sockets.
Just wondering what you guys think ?

No. I tried that but it wasn't worth the extra effort.I only charge more if a special order insists on 4 sockets. For other orders, people who really want 4 sockets are not going to pay more for those sockets. They simply won't buy an item if it *doesn't* have 4 sockets.

No, I don't charge more for sockets. I had considered it when I first started with tailor, but then I realized that some people don't care about sockets. It didn't seem fair to charge more for something that's so random since I can't guarantee how many an item will have.If someone is happy that something has 4 sockets and decides to tip more for it, that's fine with me, but I won't go out of my way to make more money from it. I personally don't use attachments, mainly because I change my clothes so often that I couldn't possibly pick one item to put an attachment in. So, of course, I assume I can't be the only one that isn't interested in how many sockets there are.

I only charge extra if the customer specfically asks for at least 3 sockets in all items. Because usually you have to try a few times before getting that. These customers are usally vets and if I tell them it's 10k they give me 30k or something. I had one customer give me 100k when I quoted 15k.
I got lucky the other night, they wanted a pair pants, shirt, jacket and hat. Got 4 sockets on all 4 first try.

I give a discount if the item has less than 4 sockets. I knock off 500 if it's 3 and 1k if it's 0-2. It's turned out to be more work, but I don't feel like repricing everything...

Like a couple other people, I only do if a customer requests it. And it depends on the item. If it's something I can resell, i won't. If it's a lime green modest skirt, with doctor enhancements, then yeah, you're gonna pay for that one. Normally i charge my wholesale price extra for every "failed" item. One person wanted a heavy flightsuit with melee/stun tissue and adv biosensors, in green. He paid quite a bit for that one.
But since the sockets are completely random, i don't feel it's fair to charge extra for them. Most of my repeat customers tip well if I special order a 4 socket item for them.

The only time I charge extra is like everyone else, its a off color that wouldn't sell, it has BE tissues, and the customer demands 4 sockets. But luckily those types usually want something like a formfitting shirt with highest melee/stun tissues in black, so the rejects help restock my BE vendor. Those guys usually tip good, so I wouldn't charge extra.

Well, im only new to the tailoring profession but i think ive come up with a fair charge rate for everything that i stock.
Basically i work on 20credit per unit used (10 credits per unit used for guild mates) then +1k per socket.
So a hooded cloak (sold plenty of these surprise surprise) take 110 items to make, so a basic Cloak costs 2200, 1 socket 3200, 2 sockets 4200, 3 sockets 5200, 6 sockets 6200.
Now i have a variety on my vendors as i make em and generally the higher 3 & 4 socket cloaks sell quicker than the lower ones, so you can charge for it accordingly.

I warn a person that it MIGHT take alot of tries, or it MIGHT be the first one, but if it is a good seller, I'll just throw it on a vendor to recoup the loss. It's not a big deal for money though. I have recently passed 40 million, and as there is really nothing I can imagine needing, that will just keep increasing so long as I keep restocking my vendor. If someone wants 4 sockets, I am happy with trying it. After the 5th try, I start to get a bit worried, especially if it's an uncommon item, or odd colour.

I dont really charge for 4 sockets really. I just smile happily when I see Sockets: 4 in my assembly screen with joy but really I do not think sockets are TOO much important while you cannot do combat efficiently without armor, you cannot stack same attachments and limited number of skills that can be modified per proffession.

No, I don't charge for the sockets. Waaaay back in the day I did, but now I don't.
When a customer specifically requests the 4 sockets, I tell him that there is no way of controlling the number of sockets, and that I will not make the clothes if he will ONLY buy if there are four sockets. The customers I've had always risks the chance, and I usually get 3 sockets... instead of the 4, which still isn't too bad
